Summary

Paul Pickering's new anti-war novel Lucy is about obedience and rebellion, how one survivor in the actual and moral wasteland of immediate post-war Berlin takes over the lives of three others, psychologically and sexually, in the way Hitler took over a country.
The worldwide protests surrounding the 2024 conflict in Gaza mirror the rebel spirit at the heart of Pickering's important, groundbreaking novel. Set partly in a German kibbutz, started by Nazis to remove Jews, there is a clash between utopian ideas and the toxic nationalism necessary to found the state of Israel. Operation Lucy, once an idealistic, anti-Nazi espionage ring, of which all the main characters are part, has become a self-devouring monster.
Lucy is darkly comic, showing how best intentions, when they pass through the looking-glass of human failings, change to the opposite. Joseph Heller's "Catch-22" means no escape because of contradictory rules, "Lucy" is the Lucifer paradox, where the only good is bad, and only bad is good.
A thrilling, disturbing and utterly compelling read from one of the UK's most celebrated authors.

The emotional ninth book in the bestselling Nappily series finds Venus dealing with the stress of her husband being suspected in the death of his ex, Sirena Lassiter. Hair loss, sleeplessness, and losing control of her life, family, and
relationships makes her easy prey for the picturesque ads of beautiful beaches, meditation, and daily massages that keep popping up on her Facebook page. She takes the bait for a relaxing women's retreat in Mexico. When she lands, all she
wants to do is take a minute to breathe and get centered. She's got tough choices to make and maybe in the warmth of sunshine and beaches she'll be able to figure out what to do next.

There she makes the unlikely connection with two women, Bunny and Elina, who become fast friends, as well as a mystery man, Gabriel Kahn, who seems to be everywhere she is. The adventure takes a quick spiral off a cliff onto a deserted
island where growth and rejuvenation of the heart and mind take on an entirely new meaning. While stuck on the beach, each day the tide rising higher and higher Venus realizes what truly matters, her family, and will do anything to make
it back home. She only hopes it's not too late.

From the author of the bestselling Devil's Dust MC series, M. N. Forgy and her mother give a whole new rush and spark in the bedroom.

I came to the Rush Riders Motorcycle Club to help a friend out, get them out of trouble, and before I knew it, I became a member. Fast women, drugs, whiskey, and fights were all things I expected and was ready for. A young woman walking into the club selling drugs wasn't. C was everywhere I didn't want her to be. Her naïve personality was resilient to my asshole attempts to run her off. The next thing I knew, I wanted more than to take her to my bed. We were like a match to gasoline, the combustion so powerful not even I could walk away. I wanted to dominate her, to make her mine, which would have been an amazing plan if our worlds hadn't collided, leaving me with having to choose between my club and her.

Can the rules of the Rush Riders MC bend to my will, or will the brotherhood mean nothing?

If they want a war, I'll give it to them.

    Contains mature themes.

This nostalgic memoir tells the story of Edward Forde Hickey as he was growing up in the idyllic wilds of Tipperary in Ireland with his beloved Grandma and other children whilst his parents were living in London and enduring bombings from the Second World War.
We experience the cultural norms of pig killing, climbing trees for fun, and the hard-working inhabitants in the fields. You really get a good feel for country living, and who Grannie is, and the influence she had on Edward's first five years of life.
A great historical, cultural and social reflection of rural life in Tipperary.

In the dark days that followed the first world war, it seemed to many that all dreams had died, that wonder and fantasy could not survive in a world that knew trenches and poppies blooming where the blood fell.Come now as we travel through strange adventures and wonderful magics. Learn of the whimsies of gods, and the terrible fates that await those that cross them. See how the office of postman fell vacant in Otford-under-the-wold, and how a sack of emeralds brought only disaster to it's holder. Explore the strange mysteries of the old brown coat, the deep inland of China with a confused shepherd, the lands where the dwarves fought the demigods, and a city of wonder perhaps less unreal than it first appears.Includes Idle Days On The Yann from A Dreamer's Tales as the first part of three stories, collectively titled 'Beyond The Fields We Know'. Come along with the poet as he searches to once again pass beyond the realities mundane and into the Lands of Dream, along the fabled river Yann, to find the fate of the Avenger of Perdondaris.Edward Plunkett, the Baron Dunsany, was just gaining his stride as the world's first modern fantasy author, and wrote this book of tales to help show that dreams still came, dark and fantastical as they may be.
