Summary

Jorgi Williams hopes starting graduate school will go smoothly. He needs a break from his clingy and transphobic mother Kat, who still insists on calling him by his deadname. Moving into a duplex with a male roommate only sparks a fresh tirade from Kat, and Jorgi is sick of this treatment.
Thane Miller, Jorgi's roommate, is a fellow graduate student. Handsome in a skinny, alterna way, Thane is laidback and kind, and seems to accept Jorgi exactly as he is. Jorgi can't help developing a crush, despite his fear about whether Thane would date a transman.
But the question of love is put on hold when they receive evil spirits as a housewarming present. Thane locates and digs up a cursed jar in the front yard and reveals he is a Wiccan, a white witch. He begs Jorgi not to freak out. Far from being freaked out, Jorgi is fascinated. Thane introduces Jorgi to his coven and the coven leader asks the dreaded question: Who in Jorgi's life is capable of something like this? Jorgi's ex-best friend Christy is infamous for vicious grudges, and she's openly interested in black magic. Chance meetings with Christy seem to confirm she's guilty.
But not everything is adding up. As the demons grow powerful enough to talk, they claim Jorgi's soul soul has been bound to a powerful demon in a blood magic contract. That's something Christy wouldn't have the ability to do. Are the demons lying, or is the enemy still out there?
The stress of the demonic attacks, Kat's relentless transphobic hounding, and the world of blood magic opening up around Jorgi cause him a massive internal shift. Suddenly, he becomes aware there is a part of him who comes and goes and who claims their family is not as innocent and Christian as Jorgi always believed. Jorgi has Dissociative Identity Disorder, and his other selves are holding onto dark secrets about the Williams family's real religion. Thane is supportive every step of the way, causing Jorgi to fall in love.
Then one of Jorgi's inner selves points the finger at their mother, and Jorgi's sense of reality is thrown into chaos. Is his enemy Christy or his mother? Can Jorgi and Thane stop the haunting, break the evil contract, and get their happily-ever-after?

In a small Michigan town, in the late 1950s, the widow Etta Klein—wealthy and Jewish—has for more than thirty years relied for aid, comfort, and companionship on her Black housekeeper Harriet Gibbs. Between "Aunt Harry" and Etta, a relationship has developed that is closer than a friendship, yet not quite a marriage. They are inseparable, at once absurdly unequal and defined by a comic codependence.

Forever mourning the early death of her favorite son, Sargent, Etta has all but adopted Aunt Harry's nephew, the precocious, gay seventeen-year-old Oliver, who has been raised by both women. Oliver is facing down his departure to college—and fending off the advances of Etta's cook, Nella Mae—when the household is disrupted by the arrival of a self-proclaimed "warlock," one Maurice LeFleur, who has convinced Etta and Harry that he might be able to contact Sargent in the afterlife . . .

Ladies of the Rachmaninoff Eyes was the debut of the extraordinary Henry Van Dyke, whose witty and outrageous novels look back to the sparkling, elaborate comedies of Ronald Firbank and forward to postmodern burlesques like Fran Ross's Oreo.

I may not know where I come from, or who I am, but I’ve done my best to build a life for myself. I know a handful of people in town, I have a nice place to live, and I enjoy my job. I look just like everyone else. But I don’t feel like everyone else, because I feel…everything.
The emotions of others get tangled with my own as they race through my heart and sink into my soul.
They set my nerves on fire and rearrange my cells and spread across my skin until they consume me.
    Jayce
I don’t know how to explain what it’s like to lose half of your soul, to fall into grief so dark and relentless that you lose yourself.
That’s what it feels like I’ve lost. Half of my soul.
I don’t want to do this.
I don’t want to try to fill in the gaps.
I don’t want to walk into rooms that are populated by memories.
I don’t want to hear the voice of a ghost echoing in my head.
When the eccentric, introverted man who was found on the side of the road without any memories a decade ago takes pity on me and offers his help, for some reason, I find myself unable to say no.
Even though I don't know him, when he's standing by my side, for one brief moment, I forget to hurt.
Beneath the Indigo Sky is a 75000 word, MM, slow burn, contemporary romance filled with angst, grief, found family, longing, forests, road trips, stargazing, sweet dates, and of course a HEA. There are also minor paranormal elements that are left deliberately open to reader interpretation.
