Pandemics, massive earthquakes, war, and other catastrophes inspire immediate action because their casualties and destruction are immediately visible. Climate change is an unyielding problem because its long-range dangers are hidden, and thus it is a global risk unlike anything in human experience

The federal government recently announced aggressive climate targets for Canada. We have committed to producing net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, which will require major changes for our economy and way of life. Canadian citizens need to understand why our most distinguished climate scientists and our senior political leaders think that we must meet this target. Canada and Climate Change explains the importance of policies that will ensure we meet the net-zero emissions target. William Leiss provides a firm grasp on what climate change is and how scientists have described shifts in the earth’s climate as they have occurred over hundreds of millions of years and as they are likely to occur in the near future, especially by the end of this century.

Leiss argues that citizens have a right to place their trust in what climate scientists tell us. Canada and Climate Change is an essential primer on where we stand on the issue of climate change in Canada and what will unfold in the years ahead.

    Pay Up! - Conservative Myths...

Since the Reagan era, conservatives in the United States have championed cutting taxes, especially for wealthy individuals and corporations, as the best way to achieve economic prosperity. In his new book, Pay Up!, John L. Campbell shows that while these claims are highly influential, they are also wrong. Using historical and cross-national evidence, the book challenges and refutes every justification conservatives have made for tax cuts—that American taxes are too high; they hurt the economy; they facilitate government waste; they constitute an unfair downward redistribution of income; and they threaten individual freedom—and conversely shows that countries can actually benefit from higher taxes, especially when tax increases fall most heavily on those most able to pay them. Through clear prose and a well-reasoned argument, Campbell's book provides an accessible, engaging, and much-needed perspective on the role of taxes in American society.

    ADULT ADHD
In a world built for, by, and around neurotypical adults, people with neurodevelopmental disorders often struggle to cope. The onus is always on those on the margins to understand and fit in with a world that makes little sense to them.
The scientific and the psychiatric community do not yet understand much of the intricacies of mental health. For example, ADHD was not recognized as a mental disorder until the 1960s. Research on the disorder has come a long way, but many hurdles are yet to be crossed. It is the goal of this book to help better educate people specifically about Adult ADHD.
Ultimately, this book aims to bring help to the 4.4% of adults in the US struggling with adult ADHD. Inside, it will provide you with information about the symptoms of ADHD; how you will be diagnosed when you visit a medical professional; how well adult ADHD can be managed; and the self-help and alternative strategies available to you for managing ADHD as an adult.
Do you personally live with ADHD as an adult? Or perhaps you suspect you might, but haven't been officially diagnosed? Or yet still, do you live or work with someone dealing with ADHD?
If you answered 'Yes' to any of the above questions, this book is for you!

    The Meme Humanoids - Modern...

In 2012, an incredible phenomenon began to occur. Internet users, in earnest, began reporting frightening encounters with emaciated, pale, hairless humanoids that, for the most part, crawled on all fours. Internet users attempted to equate these entities with characters of Native American mythology, oblivious to the fact that the humanoids in these encounters bore a resemblance to the fictional Rake. Many witnesses suggested that they were "Skinwalkers," medicine men or witches of traditional Navajo lore who possess the ability to transform into animals. Others proposed that these emaciated humanoids were manifestations of the "Wendigo," a malevolent cannibalistic spirit of Cree and Algonquin legend. Others still began to invent new names for these creatures, such as "Fleshgaits" and "Crawlers," the latter evoking the 2005 movie entities that likely helped to inspire the Rake originally.

The humanoid encounters and sightings that are detailed in this book over varied glimpses into the phenomenon. Ask yourself—are these humanoids actual corporeal beings that are manifested by the human mind and perceivable by others? Or are we witnessing the nexus of an unknown and monstrous species of humanoid?
