“A compelling story about coping with a serious illness, offering lessons in the value of slowing down and appreciating life in the moment." -- KIRKUS REVIEWSDIALYSIS: A MEMOIR portrays how a young woman’s life is changed forever when her kidneys fail. From hospitalization through hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis and finally to transplant, the memoir explores how her experience of illness is at odds with the world around her: the buoyant and youthful atmosphere of the San Francisco Bay Area during the dotcom bubble of the 1990's. The memoir describes how she learns to make sense of what happened and how she ultimately overcomes the physical and emotional challenges of kidney failure to thrive in her new life. DIALYSIS: A MEMOIR, SECOND EDITION, includes a new Introduction and an updated Afterword, twenty years later.

As Springfield residents decorated for Halloween in September 1972, the crime rate in the quiet, affluent township was at its lowest in years. That mood was shattered when the body of sixteen-year-old Jeannette DePalma was discovered in the local woods, allegedly surrounded by strange objects. Some feared witchcraft was to blame, while others believed a serial killer was on the loose. Rumors of a police coverup ran rampant, and the case went unsolved along with the murders of several other young women. Now, four decades after Jeannette DePalma's tragic death, authors Jesse P. Pollack and Mark Moran present the definitive account of this shocking cold case.

Abby Johnson thought she knew what mercy was when she ushered desperate women toward abortion as the director of a Planned Parenthood facility. She was wrong. It wasn't until she understood the blood on her hands that she personally experienced the power of God's fierce yet tender mercy to transform her life. But she never imagined what could happen once she allowed that very mercy to infiltrate her life and spill out into a hurting world.

In Fierce Mercy, Abby calls you to experience a transformation of your own. Against the backdrop of her first decade involved in the pro-life movement, Abby helps you discover God's unrestrained mercy at work in your own life and take steps toward becoming a channel of that life-changing mercy in the world around you. She shows you how to model God's mercy, freely offer mercy to those who seem undeserving, respond with mercy when others err or offend, and bear witness to God's unrestrained compassion so that others may know him.

This is Abby's challenge to you: dare to do what is hard, what is right, and what is good. And do all of it in love.

Some individuals have such a magnetic personality that they can attract a hugely devoted following, ignoring the misdeeds of their leader and even committing evil on their behalf. With religious, spiritual or philosophical beliefs to guide them, cults can lead to some of the disturbing events of the modern era. Filled with shadowy rituals and sinister hierarchies and led by masterful manipulators, they can easily become the site of unthinkable horror - and it is only after the leader is brought down that those caught deep inside truly understand what was going on.

This book explores the cases of some of the most horrifying cults ever to have existed, including:
    - The Family, led by Charles Manson, a cult of death and destruction which terrorized Los Angeles in the 1960s.
    - The Branch Davidians, led by David Koresh, a doomsday cult that ended in a tragic shootout with the authorities.
    - The Peoples Temple, led by the Reverend Jim Jones, who orchestrated a mass murder-suicide after convincing his followers to relocate to a remote commune in the Guyana jungle.
    - Aum Shinrikyo, founded by Shoko Asahara, which carried out a number of terrorist attacks in Japan in the late 20th century.

None of my books suited the concept of Audio Snaps better than Sour Mouth Sweet Bottom. In the foreword to the book I wrote: "This is not an autobiography, it's a series of vignettes of my ill-spent life. I shook the photo albumin these are the ones that fell out." For the audiobook, I’ve given it a further shake, and the result is a dozen or so pictures of my life in and around the music business. One story is not from Sour Mouth Sweet Bottom. The story about the Brill Building is actually the foreword to my book The Business But it fitted this collection so well that I couldn’t resist putting it in. Listen and enjoy,
