Summary

In the annals of maritime mysteries, the disappearance of USS Courage stands as a haunting enigma, a tale of tragedy and unanswered questions that has captivated the public's imagination for decades. This book delves into the depths of this compelling story, seeking to unravel the secrets that lie beneath the waves.

On a fateful day in 1968, USS Courage, a nuclear-powered submarine, embarked on a routine mission off the coast of Florida. With a crew of 98 brave men aboard, the submarine vanished without a trace, leaving behind a trail of shattered hopes and unanswered questions.

The Navy launched a massive search and rescue operation, scouring the ocean floor for any sign of the missing submarine. However, their efforts yielded no answers, only deepening the mystery surrounding the Courage's fate. As days turned into weeks and weeks into months, speculation and rumors began to swirl. Conspiracy theories proliferated, fueled by the Navy's silence and the lack of concrete information.

This book takes a comprehensive look at the tragedy, examining the various theories surrounding the sinking of USS Courage. From plausible explanations such as mechanical failures and human error to more outlandish ideas involving sabotage and supernatural phenomena, no stone is left unturned in the quest for answers.

Through meticulous research and interviews with key figures, the author pieces together the events leading up to the submarine's disappearance, shedding light on the factors that may have contributed to the disaster. The book also explores the impact of the tragedy on the Navy, the families of the victims, and the nation as a whole, revealing the profound and lasting scars left by this heartbreaking loss.

Ultimately, the mystery of USS Courage remains unsolved, a testament to the vastness and unforgiving nature of the ocean depths. However, this book serves as a tribute to the brave crew members who lost their lives, and a reminder of the enduring fascination with one of the most perplexing maritime disasters of all time.

In The Frogs, the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes crafts a comedic and satirical journey to the underworld, where the god Dionysus seeks to bring back a great tragic playwright to save Athens. Disguised as Heracles, Dionysus embarks on a series of farcical adventures, culminating in a contest between the spirits of Aeschylus and Euripides to determine who is the superior dramatist. Blending sharp wit, literary critique, and political commentary, the play mocks contemporary Athenian culture while celebrating the power of art to shape society. With its lively dialogue, clever wordplay, and fantastical premise—including a chorus of frogs whose croaking becomes a memorable refrain—The Frogs remains a brilliant example of classical comedy that explores the role of tragedy, leadership, and the moral health of the state. Entertaining and thought-provoking, it offers enduring insights into literature, democracy, and human folly.

Is ethics grounded on nature; and, if so, does this mean human nature or the natural world? What is the connection between gaining ethical understanding and relating properly to other people? What counts as right action and how do we make good decisions? What is the proper place of emotion in the good life?

The final chapters discuss the significance of Stoic ideas for modern thought, especially for virtue ethics and environmental ethics, and the Stoic contribution to guidance on living.

Stoic Ethics is an ideal starting point for anyone looking for an accessible and lively explanation of Stoic ideas and their implications for practical living.

The poems written in this book were composed in over 20 different countries & different cities including Australia, Bali, Brooklyn, Budapest, Colombia, Cyprus, Greece, India, Israel, Istanbul, Los Angeles, Madagascar, Miami, New Zealand, Oklahoma, Portugal, Romania, Sydney, Tbilisi, Thailand, & The Hamptons & Ukraine.
I left a piece of my heart in each one of these places that I visited along with leaving a piece of my heart, with every one of those amazing souls that I met & connected with along the way, a lot of who I still know to this day. Those out there know who you are so I don’t need to name names.
I’ve been traveling the world for several decades, but I notice this most recent trip felt the most strange & I can’t just blame COVID for this post COVID feeling. See something has just fundamentally changed the whole global vibe is a bit off & I don’t just mean the obvious stuff.
Sure there’s the political chaos with right & left becoming increasingly polarized which is absolutely heartbreaking because if we put our differences aside we’d see we have more similarities than differences what I'm really talking about a fundamental change in the individual.
We're spending way more time with machines than we are spending with each other & a lot of the time we spend interacting with each other is done through machines instead of directly with each other.
It’s as if we are recognizing each other’s existences less & less.
On top of this a majority of people including myself seem tired “out of it” directionless & disassociated. Maybe I’m trippin’ but I can’t be imagining all these things, it can’t just be me.
So yeah, a lot more to say, but I’m just going to stop here & let the poems contained in this book do the explaining,
