Summary

I shall always remember the morning he came. It so happened that the night before I had been present at a rather cheery little supper, and I was feeling pretty rocky. On top of this I was trying to read a book Florence Craye had given me. She had been one of the house-party at Easeby, and two or three days before I left we had got engaged. I was due back at the end of the week, and I knew she would expect me to have finished the book by then. You see, she was particularly keen on boosting me up a bit nearer her own plane of intellect. She was a girl with a wonderful profile, but steeped to the gills in serious purpose. I cant give you a better idea of the way things stood than by telling you that the book shed given me to read was called Types of Ethical Theory, and that when I opened it at random I struck a page beginning:.. FROM THE BOOK.
Available since: 12/02/2020.

Sunlight, optimism, and the quiet power of perspective—‘Pollyanna’ by Eleanor H. Porter tells the story of a young girl whose outlook begins to transform everyone around her. Sent to live with her strict and distant aunt, Pollyanna brings with her a simple but disarming habit—the “glad game,” a way of finding something to be grateful for in every situation, no matter how difficult.

What begins as a small, personal outlook slowly spreads, touching lives that had long been closed off or burdened by routine and disappointment. Yet beneath the warmth, the story does not shy away from hardship, making its moments of hope feel earned rather than easy. The narrative unfolds with sincerity and emotional clarity, offering a listening experience that is gentle, uplifting, and quietly enduring.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
What if the darkest hour of history could reveal the highest form of love?

In *A Tale of Two Cities*, Charles Dickens creates one of his most dramatic and unforgettable novels: a story of London and Paris, secrecy and revolution, vengeance and mercy, despair and resurrection. First published in 1859, the novel unfolds before and during the French Revolution, when private lives are swept into the violence of history.

At the heart of the story are Dr. Manette, released from long imprisonment; Lucie Manette, whose compassion becomes a force of restoration; Charles Darnay, a man trying to escape the sins of his lineage; and Sydney Carton, whose wasted life hides the possibility of extraordinary redemption. Around them, Dickens builds a world of courts, prisons, coded messages, aristocratic cruelty, revolutionary fury, and moral transformation.

The power of *A Tale of Two Cities* lies in its contrast: two cities, two men, two destinies, and two visions of justice. Dickens exposes both the brutality of oppression and the danger of vengeance when suffering becomes hatred. Yet within the storm, he creates one of literature’s most moving portraits of self-sacrifice.

This AI-narrated audiobook offers a clear, polished, and immersive listening experience, bringing Dickens’s suspense, irony, tenderness, and historical grandeur to life with vivid clarity.

Enter the age of revolution, follow the secret thread from London to Paris, and discover the classic where love, memory, and sacrifice become stronger than terror.

A young doctor of great promise marries money, and the money has a condition attached that he discovers only when the man who holds it will not die on schedule. Malot abandoned law for journalism and wrote some seventy novels, one of which — Sans Famille — outlived them all; this one is his study of a conscience being negotiated with, item by item, by a man who is not a villain. Thirty-nine plates, among them Rembrandt and Thomas Eakins, track the bargaining conscience through three centuries of portraits and moral scenes.

    “A coming–of–age masterpiece.” —Boston Globe
""It is this perfectly wrought prose and the freshness of Plath's voice in The Bell Jar that make this book enduring in its appeal."" —USA Today
The Bell Jar is Sylvia Plath’s masterwork—an acclaimed and timeless novel about a young woman falling into the grip of mental illness and societal pressures.
The story chronicles the breakdown of Esther Greenwood, a bright, beautiful, enormously talented college student coming of age in 1950s America, as she navigates the pressures of society along with her own ambitions. While at a prestigious, competitively won position at a New York City magazine one summer, Esther finds herself struggling with the looming expectations of marriage, motherhood, and giving up on her dreams to achieve them. She becomes increasingly disillusioned and her mental health deteriorates, ultimately leading her to undergo harsh treatment and therapy.
""Funny, intense, enormously human"" (Cosmopolitan), The Bell Jar is a poignant exploration into the darkest and most harrowing corners of the human psyche and remains an extraordinary accomplishment from one of the country's most luminous talents.
