However, most countries also developed fighting skills may centuries ago. For example, boxing and wrestling featured in the Olympic Games in Greece thousands of years ago.
However, there are also more modern recognised martial arts like French kick-boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Korean Tae Kwando and Japanese Aikido. If you search online for 'x martial art', where X is your target country, you will discover more.I hope that you will find the information helpful, useful and profitable.

So far, we have only mentioned physical martial arts. There are also others like archery and javelin throwing. In other words, most people's understanding on the phrase 'martial arts' is too limited. One should think of 'martial' as war(fare) and 'arts' as skills or methods. It opens up the scope of the words.
The information in this ebook on various aspects of martial arts both Eastern and Western is organised into 16 chapters of about 500-600 words each.PUBLISHER: TEKTIME

Summertime on Icarus by Arthur C. Clarke - Alone on the scorching side of this tiny little world, an astronaut races against time as the blazing sun creeps closer to incinerating him. Survival depends on outthinking the most unforgiving environment in the solar system.
When Colin Sherrard opened his eyes after the crash, he could not imagine where he was. He seemed to be lying. trapped in some kind of vehicle, on the summit of a rounded hill which sloped steeply away in all directions. Its surface was seared and blackened, as if a great fire had swept over it. Above him was a jet-black sky crowded with stars; one of them hung like a tiny, brilliant sun, low down on the horizon.
Could it be the sun? Was he so far from Earth? No-that was impossible. Some nagging memory told him that the sun was very close-hideously close-not so distant that it had shrunk to a star. And with that thought, full consciousness returned. Sherrard knew exactly where he was, and the knowledge was so terrible that he almost fainted again.
He was nearer to the sun than any man had ever been. His damaged space-pod-a miniature spaceship, only ten feet long-was lying on no hill, but the steeply-curving surface of a world only two miles in diameter. That brilliant star sinking swiftly in the west was the light of "Prometheus," the ship that had brought him here across so many millions of miles of space. She was hanging up there among the stars, wondering why his pod had not returned like a homing pigeon to its roost. In a few minutes she would have passed from sight, dropping below the horizon in her perpetual game of hide-and-seek with the sun.
That was a game that he had lost. He was still on the night side of the asteriod, in the cool safety of its shadow, but the short night would be ending soon.

The Wall Of Darkness by Arthur C. Clarke - Ages ago the First Dynasty had walled up half the planet, and left no hint of their terrible reason... Only Shervane dared to surmount that mile-high barrier, and learn the mind-shattering truth that lay beyond.
Many and strange are the universes that drift like bubbles in the foam upon the river of time. Some–a very few–move against or athwart its current; and fewer still are those that lie forever beyond its reach, knowing nothing of the future or the past.

From award-winning author Katryn Bury of the Drew Leclair series, this hopeful coming-of-age middle grade novel follows the unlikely friendship between Sam, a recent cancer survivor, and a popular girl at school as they come together on a quest to uncover the truth about alien life in honor of Sam’s best friend’s final wishes. This powerful story of friendship and grief is a gentle reminder that we are never alone in the universe.
Sam Kepler Greyson doesn’t want to be the “cancer kid.” After losing his best friend and fellow UFO enthusiast, Oscar, to brain cancer, Sam wants to focus on anything but his own cancer—maybe even a normal year of middle school.
But whispers in the halls and lingering grief over Oscar make Sam’s return much harder. To make matters worse, he is paired with popular girl Cat for a history project. Between Cat’s icy attitude and troubling rumors that Sam lied about having cancer, nothing seems to be going well.
Things start to look up when Cat and Sam unexpectedly bond over the UFO obsession he once shared with Oscar—but Sam isn’t sure he’s ready to open up to someone again. With the chance for a fresh start within reach, he worries that coming clean about his illness will only make Cat pity him. Hiding the truth also helps Sam avoid the biggest worry of all: What if his cancer comes back?
