Sinopsis

"The Selfish Giant" and "The Happy Prince" are two of the most famous and best loved children's stories by Oscar Wilde. 
These were read to me by my mother when I was a child and were read by my wife and me to our daughter when she was a child.    
We all loved them and listened to them again and again with joy, delight and ever-increasing appreciation for their tenderness, goodness  and beauty. When listening to and reading these wonderful stories one somehow feels in the realm of the sacred. 
Although recommended for children between the ages of 6 and 10, these stories can be appreciated by much younger children and listeners of all ages. 
The cover picture is a detail from the wonderful woodcut of "The Selfish Giant" by Walter Crane for the original publication. 
These stories have a musical quality about them, beautifully captured in Graeme Koehne's ballet music "The Selfish Giant", which is available on Tall Poppies TP115.
