Survey Team by Philip K. Dick - A brave new world or was it the long way home for these men?
Halloway came up through six miles of ash to see how the rocket looked in landing. He emerged from the lead-shielded bore and joined Young, crouching down with a small knot of surface troops.
The surface of the planet was dark and silent. The air stung his nose. It smelled foul. Halloway shivered uneasily. "Where the hell are we?"
A soldier pointed into the blackness. "The mountains are over there. See them? The Rockies, and this is Colorado."
Colorado... The old name awakened vague emotions in Halloway. He fingered his blast rifle. "When will it get here?" he asked. Far off, against the horizon, he could see the Enemy's green and yellow signal flares. And an occasional flash of fission white.

Miriam Feldman’s life has become Running Man with a side of Squid Game when she’d much prefer The Great British Bake Off.
When Miri partners up with her detective ex-husband on an off-the-books magical missing persons operation, she expects buddy cop adventures galore. Instead, she gets more than she bargained for, starting with a mouthy golem who’s forced onto the team. Their mission? Crash a secret—and deadly—competition targeting non-magic humans to rescue the young woman at the heart of their case.
    So, a regular Thursday nowadays.
If that funhouse of horrors wasn’t enough, she still must fulfill her oath to a master vamp by locating the artifact bound up with her parents’ murders almost thirty years ago. He refuses to say why he wants it, but all signs point to “Danger Danger Will Robinson.”
All of that leaves no time in her schedule for sexy times with a certain wolf shifter. Which is probably just as well, seeing as he doesn’t know she’s been forced to keep secrets from him, too.
    Laugh? Cry? Coffee!
The antics of this midlife heroine who takes no crap and makes zero excuses are perfect for fans of Grimoires of a Middle-Aged Witch, Order of Magic, Accidental Witches, The Hollows, Leveling Up, the Forty Proof series, and Good to the Last Death.
Featuring a slow burn shifter romance and a smart older heroine with zero effs left to give, this clever, laugh-out-loud paranormal women's fiction will take you on a wild ride.

From humor to sentimentality, these stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald are set against a backdrop of jazz, flappers, and the changing mores of American society. In "Bernice Bobs Her Hair," wallflower Bernice is taken in hand by her more popular cousin, whose motives are not entirely altruistic. In "Benediction," a young woman visits her brother in the seminary. A camel goes to a party in "The Camel's Back." "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is a poignant fantasy about a man who ages backward. Finally, tragedy befalls a young couple in "The Lees of Happiness." The stories in this collection are from the books Flappers and Philosophers and Tales of the Jazz Age.

Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald was an American novelist, essayist, and short story writer. He is best known for his novels depicting the flamboyance and excess of the Jazz Age—a term he popularized. During his lifetime, he published four novels, four story collections, and 164 short stories.
