Summary

Frieze by Olga Dermott-Bond is an astonishing and spellbinding debut poetry collection. Goddesses, saints, dead girls, creatures, mothers, and muses all gather in this collection to confide their secret histories and desires. Voices are recovered from canvas, from behind museum glass, from the pages of literature and the tales of Irish folklore, to explore what can be recaptured and what remains still out of reach.
'In these tender poems, Olga Dermott-Bond conjures a gallery in which we enter every painting, a museum where we slip inside glass cases and come out changed.' - Miriam Nash
From a bold voice in women's poetry. Frieze is art obsessed and darkly magical, with a touch of gothic. Akin to poets like Victoria Kennefick, Helen Ivory and Pascale Petit.
Available since: 10/05/2023.
Print length: 72 pages.

'In the death zone, your body starts eating itself. Time and space disappear. It's impossible to remember what happens up there.'
When Yasmin and her guide, Tshering, return from a perilous expedition to Everest without a member of their party, they have a lot of questions to answer. Where is Yasmin's husband Charlie? What happened on the mountain? Why do Yasmin and Tshering's accounts differ so drastically?
As private investigator Connie tries to distinguish hallucination from reality, and fact from delusion, it's clear that someone, somewhere, is not telling the truth.
Set at an altitude where life hangs by a thread, Carmen Nasr's play The Climbers is a thrilling exploration of the lure of the mountains, the drive to conquer and the price of staying alive. It was first performed in June 2022 at Theatre by the Lake, Keswick, directed by Guy Jones.

Poetry, like religion, is the practice of wonder—a way of being open, a way of reaching out to touch the hem of the world’s garment. Like the great spiritual teachers, poetry invites us to be radically present, to inhabit the world a little more closely, to attend a little more lovingly, with an awareness beyond the mere mind. The numinous shines right before our eyes, nonchalantly hidden, poorly disguised. The Divine lurks in the shadowy places. The Realm of Grace is at hand, among you, within you. There’s delight and suffering and mystery: everything the heart desires. We’re embedded in it. All we have to do is slow down and pay attention. Poetry is a way of letting the world come to you. These poems are offered to waylay us from the grind of productivity, off into the weeds of the divine.
Unfolding Light is a collection of 184 poems gathered from 45 years of writing. They are part of my practice of wonder. They include reflections on daily life, scripture passages, walking in the woods, contemplative prayer, the natural world, dogs, bees, and driving across Montana with a peach. They’re rooted in my observation that the world is a thin place, filled with mystery, the divine presence, tears of every kind, and abundant blessing.

The Ramayanam, an itihasa of the highest order, is considered adi kavya, the first poem to have been composed. Written by Valm ki during Rama's time, and ratified by him, this timeless epic has been treated with utmost care by all acaryas in their famed commentaries. Since the advent of human civilization, it has inspired many poets and dramatists across the subcontinent and has been transcreated in almost all Bharat ya languages. Multiple layers of philosophy and theology are an embellishment to this classic. Its influence on Bharat ya music, dance, sculpture and textiles is unfathomable.
In this two-volume presentation, noted Vedic scholar Dushyanth Sridhar retells the Ramayanam as a conversation between Valmki and Narada. Infused with a dash of creativity that is accepted even by traditional scholars, and drawing upon interesting details from renowned and lesser-known works, this timeless epic has been recreated in a never-before manner. Furthermore, expressive sketches by eminent artist Keshav, and drawings of rare artefacts by Upasana add great value to this edition, making it the most trusted rendering of the Ramayanam for readers across all ages.
