Summary

Do you know only one thing is needed? And if we find out what that one thing is and focus on it, everything else will follow along with us.

As we live in a world where we live very busy lives, especially if you live in a busy city, we are faced with many challenges at work, at home, and at school with a long list of things we want to accomplish. Sadly, when we fail to accomplish this in time, we become frustrated and depressed.

As a result, I feel compelled to share this critical message with my generation of anxious and desperate young minds. In writing this book, I hope to draw the attention of many young minds in my generation to the one thing that is truly important for them to seek and care about with their hearts, minds, souls and spirits. This book also reveals five principles they will need to chart their own destiny, discover their purpose, and live a peaceful and contented life when they apply these principles.

This book reveals the one thing needed to transform your life, apply the principles you learn and watch your life explode into greatness.

What if we truly belong to each other? What if we are all walking around shining like the sun?

Mystic, monk, and activist Thomas Merton asked those questions in the twentieth century. Writer Sophfronia Scott is asking them today.

In The Seeker and the Monk, Scott mines the extensive private journals of one of the most influential contemplative thinkers of the past for guidance on how to live in these fraught times.

As a Black woman who is not Catholic, Scott both learns from and pushes back against Merton, holding spirited, and intimate conversations on race, ambition, faith, activism, nature, prayer, friendship, and love. She asks: What is the connection between contemplation and action? Is there ever such a thing as a wrong answer to a spiritual question? How do we care about the brutality in the world while not becoming overwhelmed by it?

By engaging in this lively discourse, listeners will gain a steady sense of how to dwell more deeply within—and even to love—this despairing and radiant world.

Countless books are designed to help leaders to become better leaders. But most resources neglect the underlying emotional struggles of both emerging and established leaders, who are often isolated and suffering in silence. Leadership professor Nicholas Rowe and counselor Sheila Wise Rowe offer their expertise in helping leaders process painful and traumatic experiences. Trauma contributes to how we lead others in either empowering or dysfunctional ways. Understanding how these experiences formed us is the beginning of the path to healing.
Woven throughout each chapter are five themes—invitation, attachment, remembrance, healing, and reconnection. Healing Leadership Trauma lays out the emotional challenges of leadership and offers encouragement, prayer, and therapeutic tools to help leaders face their pain and begin to heal.

When Mark and Gus first met, they had no way of knowing they would one day be the owners of the largest home service company in Dallas–Fort Worth! From the onset of their first meeting, these two men knew they were part of something unique, something bigger, something they hope can be an example for others. While they shared every business owner's dream of success, it wasn't the money that was most important. At first, it was the challenge of overcoming normal start-up hardships alongside real-life crises, learning the ropes, and finding creative solutions to challenges they never saw coming. By keeping their eyes on what they considered most important—faith, family, and excellence—Mark and Gus embraced each challenge with love, loyalty to the vision, and compassion for the greater DFW community they serve. The values they put in place and their impact on the team, customers, and community are the heart and soul of Milestone. Discover the elements they put in place to create a company that works not just for its customers but for its team members and its community. Within these pages, you will learn how Gus and Mark turned each roadblock they met into an extraordinary opportunity to grow personally and professionally, while remaining true to their core values and beliefs.

As I reflect on the titles of my last three books, the concepts and everything I said came to be, which inspired the title
    “Clear & Clairvoyant”.
My first book, “The Good Die Young,” is a combination of poetry and a one-act play, emphasizing the struggle of a good person
    in a corrupt world.
My second book, “Trying to be Grown,” was about wanting to be a man, craving a woman over all the other things I temporarily
found satisfaction in and not being financially stable enough to compete. My vision of a continuing elevation of success
that would be accompanied by loneliness.
My third Book “Footprint in the Mud,” a collection of poems written majorly during times incarcerated, reflects the after effects
of surviving injustices, how my rein and rise would reveal the dirt and mud I traveled through.
I find myself extending beyond making black history to making history in general as the first Artist of any race
to release a Self-Published poetry book, an audiobook, and an Independent Solo Album on the same day.
    (entirely self-written and self-produced)

"Walk in the woods with me."

That's the invitation award-winning author Lore Ferguson Wilbert extends to listeners in The Understory.

On this journey, Wilbert shares her story of alienation and disorientation after years of religious and political unrest in the evangelical church. In doing so, she looks to an unlikely place—the forest—to learn how to live and even thrive when everything seems to be falling apart. What can we learn from eroding soil, the decomposition process, the time it takes to grow lichen, the beauty of fiddlehead ferns, the regeneration of self-sowing seeds, and walking through the mud? Here, among the understory of the forest, Wilbert discovers rich metaphors for living a rooted and flourishing life within the complex ecosystems of our world. Her tenderness and honesty will help listeners grieve, remember, hope, and press on with resilience.
