Summary

So, how many lives did Mia end up saving in Sunkland again? There’s Sion, King Abram, and even Echard—in other words, practically the entire royal family. Go Mia! However, her adventures in Sol Saliente put her face-to-face with an opponent she can’t ignore: the glorious taste of sheep’s butter, imported straight from the Equestrian Kingdom!

Her eyes on the prize, Mia immediately accompanies Rafina and Abel on their stop to the Equestrian Kingdom, only to once again be attacked by the horseback brigands from before! Luckily, Lin Malong comes to their rescue and captures the bandit leader, a young girl named Aima. She reveals herself to be a member of the lost Fire Clan, and upon hearing that they’ve hit hard times, Malong decides that he can’t look the other way. He invites Mia to help mediate the negotiations, a position she has no interest in taking. That is, of course, until he tells her of all the tasty milk she’d be able to enjoy...

A short satirical thriller from bestselling author Freida McFadden.
    My husband is dead.
I attended his funeral. I watched his casket be lowered six feet into the ground. (Actually, it may have been only five feet, but that still seems like more than enough.) And then we ate an array of finger sandwiches and deviled eggs and miniature beef wellingtons that cost more than my first car.
My point is, Grant is gone. And so are all his many, many deep, dark secrets which I never really ever bothered to ask him about. He is never coming back.
So why do I still see his face everywhere I go?
The Widow's Husband's Secret Lie is an utterly addictive, unputdownable, nail-biting, absolutely gripping psychological thriller novella with a shocking, breathtaking, heartstopping, spine-chilling twist that you won't see coming, will leave you stunned, and will literally have you picking your jaw up off the floor and bringing it to the nearest hospital for major facial reconstructive surgery.

“Koul reads the audiobook edition of her essays, her performance highlighting her sharp-witted humor and emotional vulnerability.” —Book RiotThis program is read by the author. The long-awaited follow-up from one of the most original and hilarious voices writing today.Scaachi Koul’s first book was a collection of raw, perceptive, and hilarious essays reckoning with the issues of race, body image, love, friendship, and growing up the daughter of immigrants. When the time came to start writing her next book, Scaachi assumed she’d be updating her story with essays about her elaborate four-day wedding, settling down to domestic bliss, and continuing her never-ending arguments with her parents. Instead, the Covid-19 pandemic hit, Scaachi’s marriage fell apart, she lost her job, and her mother was diagnosed with cancer.Sucker Punch is about what happens when the life you thought you’d be living radically changes course, everything you thought you knew about the world and yourself has tilted on its axis, and you have to start forging a new path forward. Scaachi employs her biting wit to interrogate her previous belief that fighting is the most effective tool for progress. She examines the fights she’s had—with her parents, her ex-husband, her friends, online strangers, and herself—all in an attempt to understand when a fight is worth having, and when it's better to walk away.A Macmillan Audio production from St. Martin’s Press.

Full of amusement, this series of fictional tales starts with a Galwayman’s arrival in Tipperary’s post-famine days and portrays the daily lives of a hillside community.
Written in the colloquial and lyrical language of some of our ancestors, it tells – amongst others – such diverse stories as the reliance of families on children rabbit-poaching, on the pre-dawn cattle-droving days of a young school-leaver, the re-appearance of a dead girl to her newly-born sister…along with a number of love-hate incidents, like the townie scorn for a mountainy man at the show-fair, before he walks off with the big trophy!

It’s June 2012. The magical and slightly cultish River Run swim club is alive with the spirit of fun competition when a perfect storm brews between team moms and best friends Gillian Cloud and Kristy Weinstein. The ghost of family addiction has turned up, looming over their carefully planned pasta parties, tie-dye nights, and pep rallies, forcing them to face their unresolved childhood trauma. Gillian responds by trying to control everyone around her while Kristy relapses into her dangerous addiction to love. Real sparks fly on the night of the derecho—a freak land hurricane—which sweeps through Northern Virginia, knocking out power for days. The storm ignites a tinder box of secrets, leaving Gillian and Kristy alone in the hot dark—their shame their only company. At times humorous and devastating, Swimming with Ghosts is a hauntingly dark, yet uniquely tender story about the various entrapments of addiction and lingering trauma and what it takes to overcome our hidden legacies of disgrace and discover a once unimaginable freedom made possible by confronting life’s greatest storms with the people closest to us.
