A Christmas Carol in Prose, Being a Ghost Story of Christmas, usually known just as A Christmas Carol is a fairy-tale novel by a British classic Charles Dickens, that was published in 1843.
It consists of five chapters, or staves as the author named them. Among all the stories from Christmas Books by Dickens this one became the most popular story about Christmas in Great Britain and outside the country.
The main character is an old gloomy miser Ebenezer Scrooge, who doesn't love anyone or anything except his money. He doesn't understand why everybody is so happy about Christmas and with disgust, refuses the invitation from his kind nephew to celebrate this holiday together with his family.
On Christmas Eve, the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley appeared in front of Scrooge, and it changed him drastically…

Monster by William Morrison - Colonizing Mars was hell, because of one thing—large, hungry critters. They flew, crawled, snarled, howled, burrowed up under the floors, chewed at doors and windows. And then, to make things worse, came the Monster...
There was a faint scratching at the door, so faint that Alice Kidd, who had been listening fearfully for precisely that sound, was at first not certain that she heard it. But, as she came close to the doorway, it was no longer possible to doubt, and a chill went through her at the thought of the creature panting eagerly on the other side. Now she could hear it whine, and, despite her knowledge that the gesture was an idle one, she could not help once more feeling the bolt behind the door. Then she made sure that the shutters too were securely barred, although these were usually in less danger; most of the animals could not apply pressure very far above the ground.
Small was staring at her, not particularly frightened, but very much interested. Her face, she thought, must be pale through the radiation tan. Ordinarily, there was nothing timid or fragile about her, or she would never have accompanied her husband to Mars; but all the same, she felt weak and helpless before the danger that threatened. And she shuddered as her five-year-old son asked, "Can it get in, Mommy?"
"I hope not, darling. Come, let's go into the other room and bolt the connecting door. And then I'll call up Daddy."
"Does it want to eat us, Mommy?"
Alice shuddered again. "Don't talk about it," she said, and carried him quickly into the next room. When the door was bolted, she pressed the contact button, asked for Mr. Kidd, and almost at once was speaking to Anthony.

Mya meets Elin or Love meets Light is a spiritually inspired novel for young people aged 14 and up. Kate Rouse wanted to share ideas from her previous book, A Spiritual Handbook for the Modern Era, in a readable and memorable form which would appeal to a younger audience.
Mya is a troubled, 14-year-old girl who is experiencing bullying at school. She meets Elin, a lovely, wise woman, in the forest near her home. Elin becomes Mya's mentor as their friendship grows through frequent rendezvous. Elin teaches Mya about coping with difficulties and becoming spiritually aware. Different chapters represent various themes as each conversation becomes a lesson on topics such as nature and the world as it is.
Many young people may feel worthless and pessimistic at times. They may experience anxiety about their own lives and the current world situation. Mya meets Elin or Love meets Light has been written to give them some insight and hope when, at times, things may only seem bleak. The book is here to amplify love and light.
