From two-time Newbery Honor and New York Times–bestselling author Kevin Henkes, this timeless novel about loss, loneliness, and friendship tells the story of the spring break that changes seventh-grader Amelia Albright’s life forever.
Amelia Albright dreams about going to Florida for spring break like everyone else in her class, but her father—a cranky and stubborn English professor—has decided Florida is too much adventure.
Now Amelia is stuck at home with him and her babysitter, the beloved Mrs. O’Brien. The week ahead promises to be boring, until Amelia meets Casey at her neighborhood art studio. Amelia has never been friends with a boy before, and the experience is both fraught and thrilling. When Casey claims to see the spirit of Amelia’s mother (who died ten years before), the pair embarks on an altogether different journey in their attempt to find her.
Using crisp, lyrical, literary writing and moments of humor and truth, award-winning author Kevin Henkes deftly captures how it feels to be almost thirteen.
With themes of family, death, grief, creativity, and loyalty, Sweeping Up the Heart is for readers of Kate DiCamillo, Rebecca Stead, Lauren Wolk, Kimberly Brubaker Bradley, and Pam Muñoz Ryan.

    THE ENCHANTED GROVE OF LUMINA
Book 5 of 6 The Shadowed Shard
Following on from Book 4– The Shattered Prism this story is summarized as follows:
Lyra and her companions face a new threat as the grove’s balance falters. A missing shard of the Prism, stolen by Malachar’s lingering influence, draws them to the treacherous Shadowed Vale, a realm of shifting light and darkness. There, they confront haunting visions and a shadowy guardian, testing their resolve. After reclaiming the shard, they battle Malachar, who seeks to unleash chaos. Though they temporarily banish him, his shadow lingers, and the Prism remains incomplete. As strange disturbances plague the grove, Lyra vows to protect it, knowing the battle for balance is far from over.
This is the fifth of six audiobooks in the series, the last will become available in the very near future and I do hope you enjoy this fifth instalment, and it's only $3, all subsequent will remain at that price as I would not like price to be a barrier to your enjoyment.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, harp, violin, glockenspiel in a classical but uplifting form. The closing music ends the tale on a more restrained note and at about 2 minutes and the same musical instruments but more dreamy and ethereal effect.
The story itself runs to about 11 1/2 minutes and is narrated in my own voice.
I do hope you and your family, if applicable, enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!

Sales Pitch by Philip K. Dick - There are pushy salesmen and then there are PUSHY salesmen who refuse to give up... until they make the sale!
Commute ships roared on all sides, as Ed Morris made his way wearily home to Earth at the end of a long hard day at the office. The Ganymede-Terra lanes were choked with exhausted, grim-faced businessmen; Jupiter was in opposition to Earth and the trip was a good two hours. Every few million miles the great flow slowed to a grinding, agonized halt; signal-lights flashed as streams from Mars and Saturn fed into the main traffic-arteries.
"Lord," Morris muttered. "How tired can you get?" He locked the autopilot and momentarily turned from the control-board to light a much-needed cigarette. His hands shook. His head swam. It was past six; Sally would be fuming; dinner would be spoiled. The same old thing. Nerve-wracking driving, honking horns and irate drivers zooming past his little ship, furious gesturing, shouting, cursing...
And the ads. That was what really did it. He could have stood everything else -- but the ads, the whole long way from Ganymede to Earth. And on Earth, the swarms of sales robots; it was too much. And they were everywhere.
He slowed to avoid a fifty-ship smashup. Repair-ships were scurrying around trying to get the debris out of the lane. His audio-speaker wailed as police rockets hurried up. Expertly, Morris raised his ship, cut between two slow-moving commercial transports, zipped momentarily into the unused left lane, and then sped on, the wreck left behind. Horns honked furiously at him; he ignored them.
