Summary

Brave Kids is a story that tackles important topics which many youngsters and adults can identify with. Domestic violence, oppression of women, patriarchal stereotypes, a mother’s struggle to save her son, racism, will power and positive thinking, the love between two young people who belong to different castes, the victory of benevolence. Ravi is a 12-year-old boy who lives in Kerala, in the 80’s India. When his dad gets unemployed, he becomes violent towards his wife and child. Then, despite her fears and adversities, Ravi’s mother escapes with her son to rebuild a new life without violence. Throughout their adventure they encounter many difficulties but also people who help them. They cross paths with Ananya and her wealthy family and they build lifelong relationships. Ananya is a modern girl with love for knowledge and justice. When she falls in love with Ravi, she challenges traditions and patriarchal structures. Are they going to overcome the obstacles and find happiness in the end?
