The secrets of the past belong to the future.
“Again a big page turner! This story kept me reading well into the night to get to the end. With more accurate facts and detail than before. Well done!” ~ Roos Dahmen
When all over the world, the last isolated living tribes disappear, Professor Matthew Bishop is again, unwillingly, dragged into an adventure that will take him all over the globe.
His personal stake increases when his close friend Jennifer Porter disappears and seems somehow to be involved. Following the hidden clues, and with the help of the Vatican and old friends, Bishop uncovers the truth about the next step in evolution.
It’s a truth that doesn’t end on this Earth, but could very well mean the end of it, in a journey across three continents and into the heavens.
EVOLVED PUBLISHING PRESENTS the second book in the "Matthew Bishop" series of religious conspiracy thrillers, ideal for fans of Dan Brown and Michael Crichton.

A debutante's missing body, murder most foul, and weird spectral lights in the fog make for a thrilling gaslight-era tale of mystery and detection.
In 1895 San Francisco young debutantes don't commit suicide at festive parties, particularly not under the eye of Sabina Carpenter. But Virginia St. Ives evidently did, leaping from a foggy parapet in a shimmer of ghostly light. The seemingly impossible disappearance of her body creates an even more serious problem for the firm of Carpenter and Quincannon, Professional Detective Services.
Sabina didn't want to take the case, but her partner John Quincannon insisted it would serve as entr├®e to the city's ultra rich and powerful. That means money, and Quincannon loves the almighty dollar—which is why he is hunting the bandit who robbed the Wells Fargo office of $35,000.
Working their separate cases—while Sabina holds John off with one light hand—the detectives give readers a tour of the city the way it was. From the infamous Barbary Coast to the expensive tenderloin gaming houses and brothels frequented by wealthy men, Quincannon follows a danger-laden trail to unmask the murderous perpetrators of the robbery. Meanwhile, Sabina works her wiles on friends and relatives of the vanished debutante until the pieces of her puzzle start falling into place. But it's an oddly disguised gent appearing out of nowhere who provides the final clue to both cases—the shrewd "crackbrain" who believes himself to be Sherlock Holmes.

    The Sorrows of Young Werther

The Sorrows of Young Werther is Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's explosive novel of passion, longing, and despair—a book that caused a sensation across Europe and launched the Romantic movement.
Young Werther, a sensitive, artistic soul, flees the constraints of city life for a peaceful German village. There, amidst the beauty of nature, he meets and instantly falls in love with Charlotte (Lotte), a young woman engaged to another man, Albert. Though Lotte cares for Werther deeply, her sense of duty binds her to her betrothed.
Unable to possess the woman he loves, Werther spirals into a vortex of melancholy and obsession. He tortures himself by staying close to Lotte, each meeting fueling his hopeless passion. As his emotional state becomes increasingly unstable, he sees no escape from his suffering except for one final, tragic act—suicide.
Told entirely through Werther's own letters to his friend Wilhelm, the novel is a raw and immediate plunge into a tormented mind. Goethe's prose is lyrical, passionate, and deeply influential, shaping the course of European literature. The book made Goethe a household name almost overnight.
First published in 1774, The Sorrows of Young Werther remains one of the most powerful and controversial love stories ever written. It captures the ache of unrequited love, the longing for a different life, and the devastating consequences when boundless feeling collides with unyielding reality.
This audiobook is based on the 1774 public domain text, using the classic English translation by R. Dillon Boylan. Produced and narrated by Qingye Wuchen, with AI assistance.
