Sinopsis

Tokyo, 1990. Disgraced London Met detective Pete Bond has reinvented himself as an English teacher, but his embarrassing secret is nothing compared to the dark event in Suzi Sloane's earlier life.

A promiscuous Londoner, Suzi supplements her day job by topless dancing in a Shinjuku Kabukicho hostess bar. She's considering an offer from Shigeru, a customer at Club O. Meanwhile, Pete crosses paths with Dieter, a drug-dealing German, who appears to be involved in more than drugs and seemingly has a connection with Shigeru.

Before he can investigate Dieter, Pete becomes infatuated with Suzi in Roppongi, the infamous central Tokyo expat bar area. As a web of crime and exploitation in the Tokyo underworld begins to unravel, they are drawn into a deadly series of events.

The first book in the Tokyo Noir series, Nick John's NEON IDENTITY is a hard-hitting crime novel set against the backdrops of Tokyo's Kabukicho and Roppongi.

Clive Mortlake, the property owner and a man of keen intellect, seeks Maggie's legal expertise in return for her stay. A senior at Duke University, Art's sudden vanishing act after an evening at a local bar left no clues, no communications, and a cold trail. The official investigation has dwindled, and a haunting suspicion of murder looms over the unanswered questions.

Contrary to the grim theories, Clive is adamant that his son is alive, and ensnared by vindictive corporate rivals from his past. This conviction is bolstered when an enigmatic message surfaces, suggesting that Art might be alive.

For Maggie, this case could either mark a triumphant return to law or spell the end of her legal journey, challenging her resolve and her ability to untangle truth from fiction in a world where everyone has something to hide.
