The first biography in more than three decades of the Austrian-born thinker Ludwig Wittgenstein, one of the most influential philosophers of the twentieth century
According to the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein (1889–1951), philosophy is a “battle against the bewitchment of our intelligence by means of language.” This audacious idea changed the way many of its practitioners saw their subject. In the first biography of Wittgenstein in more than three decades, Anthony Gottlieb evaluates this revolutionary idea, explaining the evolution of Wittgenstein’s thought and his place in the history of philosophy.
Wittgenstein was born into an immensely rich Viennese family but yearned to live a simple life, and he gave away his inheritance. After studying with Bertrand Russell in Cambridge, he wrote his famous Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus while serving in World War I. He then took several positions as a primary-school teacher in rural Austria before returning as a fellow to Cambridge, where a cultlike following developed around him. Wittgenstein worked not only as a philosopher and schoolteacher, but also as an aeronautical engineer in Manchester and as an architect in Vienna.
Gottlieb’s meticulously researched book traces the itinerant and troubled life of Wittgenstein, the development of his influential ideas, and the Viennese intellectual milieu and family background that shaped him.

The Capitalist's Worst Nightmare Come True: The Crucifixion of Capital:
In this break-through multiple-award winning book, Richard exposes the lies, greed, corruption and inequality upon which the capitalist system is built. We have the power to turn the world upside down and free ourselves from the illusions of capitalism forever.
"Richard is an ‘outside the box’ thinker and TIME-EQUITY is a bold pathway of change." James B. Fuller, World Alliance for Planetary Health
“As time unfolds, it becomes increasingly visible that many of our systems have outlived their purpose. Aligned with our true human spirit, a shift occurs calling for a new approach to value. Richard shows what this could look like.” Nicolette DeVidar, TV Host & Founder, urban2050
This book shows how fragile the monetary system is and the elite do not want you to know that. Richard has uncovered their secrets. From mechanic to an exemplary career in the financial industry his self-made billionaire partner told him that his greatest asset is his ability to see things differently because he doesn't have an MBA. His "unconventional" methods were featured in a national financial magazine and TV show. He learned that the majority have to fail financially for the few to win.
The thrust of this book is to show us that there are possibilities beyond what we’ve come to accept as our reality; this comes from an unending drive to imagine beyond the conventional wisdom. TIME-EQUITY is the realistic alternative we’ve been waiting for to usher in an age of equality, true democracy, a sustainable planet and quite possibly the first era of peacefulness amongst humanity to work together in realizing our unlimited potential.

It’s one thing to hear a life-changing truth or to have a conceptual grasp on spiritual wisdom. But it’s another thing to “walk the walk”—or to put into practice the good advice we’ve been given. What does it mean to walk the walk in our everyday lives? According to Pema Chödrön, it means being down-to-earth, genuine, and perhaps most importantly, it means engaging in the teachings in order to actively confront anything and everything we’ve heretofore rejected in our attempts to find happiness. Created to help us respond with compassion and authenticity when our spiritual ideals are put to the test, Walking the Walk brings you four inspirational sessions with Pema Chödrön, as you explore: • Stabilizing the Mind—awareness, presence, and the foundation of the spiritual path • Unconditional Friendship with Yourself—getting unstuck from the patterns that create our own misery • Freedom from Fixed Mind—how to release biases and prejudices to revitalize your everyday experiences • Taking Care of One Another—essential guidance in the ability to truly be there for othersThe teachings in these sessions are not about perfection or unrealistic standards. "Baby steps are okay when learning to walk the walk," explains Pema. No matter the situation you find yourself in, here is a program for remaining true to the values we seek to live by, and staying open to the kindness and love that is alwaysavailable to support us.Course objectives: • Discuss how the practice of "Stabilizing the Mind," through awareness and presence, is the foundation of the spiritual path • Define and practice "Unconditional Friendship with Yourself" as a way to get unstuck from the patterns that create suffering, while opening to the kindness and love that is always available to support us • Summarize how the practice of "Freedom from Fixed Mind" invites you to release biases and prejudices to revitalize your everyday experiences • Discuss the practice of "Taking Care of One Another" as essential guidance in the ability to truly be there for ourselves and others
