Wrongly discredited as a space pilot, Panglor Balef is doomed to die in space, if sheer luck doesn’t bring him through. But luck has never been in Panglor’s cards. Bad enough to be coerced into a mission of murder and suicide, he must also contend with Alo—a young woman, stowaway, and impossible companion. Neither of them, nor his empathic ou-ralot, could possibly anticipate the journey through space-time they are about to embark on, through a door to an insane reality from which there is almost certainly no return. It could be the discovery of the millennium, but the only way home is to journey even further into the heart of madness.
The stunning prequel to the famed Star Rigger Universe of Jeffrey A. Carver, Nebula-nominated author of Eternity’s End and The Chaos Chronicles, and recipient of Frank Herbert Lifetime Achievemen Award for science fiction.

The third book in I. A. Takerian's high-fantasy series brings us to the edge of the abyss, staring into the eyes of the End.

Yvaine has taken her place as Queen of the Odelians, promising to lead the charge in the coming war. They've barely scratched the surface of her magick, and time has run out. The darkness inches through the Forgotten Wood, promising to sap the last bit of life from Zenafrost. Yvaine has no choice: The War Party must set out on a desperate quest through the Forests of Galion, following the rumor of a legend. Braving the druids of old, a long-warded curse, and the depths of an ancient library, they search for any means to defeat the forces of the Deceiver.

But the aftermath of their clash with Delinval looms overhead. The factions of Zenafrost move against the Odelians, twisted by dark whispers and unspoken evils. Bound to the destiny of every and all, Yvaine races against the crumbling Dark Gate.

Will she find the power she needs before their fates are sealed?

    Contains mature themes.

The Last Winter describes the agony of a researcher and, broadly speaking, of the honest Romanian intelligentsia, in the muddled period that followed the overturn of Nicolae Ceausescu’s dictatorship in late 1989. The deprivations that politicians imposed on the Romanian public for the sake of an ambivalent switch to the market economy and delusive future welfare took a serious toll on the country. The lead character, a researcher, found himself caught between two ostensibly different worlds that hardly differed in reality, insofar as they were products of the same clique of politicians that only paid lip service to Eastern Europe’s political U-turn of the 1990s. Persecuted under the Communist regime, the character has trouble adjusting to the mock capitalism that follows. His is a self-denying struggle for preserving the fundamental values of humankind embodied by the endangered library—that of his own research institute and its symbolic counterpart, Assurbanipal’s famous library in Nineveh. The researcher is killed while unsuccessfully trying to save the former but compensates by saving the latter in his dying hour’s visions—a silver lining to this gloomy ending as the author believes that fundamental values will eventually prevail.

In Sera’s guarded, imaginative core, fauns have rejected the Royal Coven, their magick, and the questionable trades made for it. One day, her quest for answers unearths a dark family secret. With the help of a shapeshifting deadringer and a cavalier classmate, Sera embarks on a journey that will change her world forever.
This 6.5-hour adventure is an auditory feast led by sharp, spirited performances from Tammie Armstrong (Sera and Nixie) and Uriah Roots (Enry and Wilford). Supporting characters are voiced by Sabrina Bee (Mother and Maeve) and Steve Bernard (Father and Roald), while the story is narrated by Charles Armstrong. Behind the performances, a moody musical backdrop and rich ensemble of sound effects complete the vivid retelling, resulting in an experience that’s more like a movie than a traditional audiobook. On supported platforms, a supplemental 48-page pdf complements the experience with twisted illustrations from famed artist Kira Night.
