Sinopse

The Follow Me project was created in 2012 based on the concept of showing the beauty and uniqueness of different locations around the world. It is a story told through the eyes of two ordinary travelers who attempt to portray local lifestyles and narratives by means of photography. Since the project’s launch on Instagram, it has become a worldwide Internet sensation, emerging as a leading news feature and gathering millions of views on social media and the news sites that covered it. In each stunning image, photographer Murad Osmann is led to a new location by his girlfriend, Nataly Zakharova. These images remind us that in the hustle and bustle of daily life, we so often forget to stop and appreciate the things that surround us—the historical and architectural heritage left to us by our ancestors. Readers join Osmann from the point of view of the main character and are taken on a journey to different historical and cultural sites. The project aims to acquaint readers with different lifestyles. For Osmann and Zakharova, this theme seems infinite, as there are an endless number of places to visit on our planet. Paging through the book, readers will be invited to see something familiar to them from another point of view, via the lens of Osmann’s camera.Follow Zakharova and Osmann on a trip around the world, through such locations as Moscow, Madrid, Ibiza, Hong Kong, New York, and London.

Hollywood is indelibly printed in our minds as the ‘go-to’ place for entertainment and has been for decades. When there really did seem to be more stars in Hollywood than in Heaven Hollywood Stage had them performing films as radio plays – on the sponsors dime of course. Classic films now become audiobooks with many featuring the original stars from way back when. Here's The Devil and Miss Jones starring Lana Turner & Lionel Barrymore.

Chris Akin, rock critic and co-host of the often controversial Classic Metal Show, takes listeners on an exploration of Motley Crue’s 1994 self-titled album. Armed with new vocalist John Corabi, it was a sound that, from start to finish, sounded nothing at all like anything they had done previously.
Immediately, it was polarizing. Most of the fan base absolutely hated it. They didn’t buy it, and further didn’t support the band to the point where the label themselves made the decision to stop pushing money into it. That said though, many fans felt completely different, Akin among them. He takes a look back at both his personal experiences as well as the perception of this polarizing release on the world. This audiobook also includes nearly an hour of bonus audio extras.

Johann Sebastian Bach today has a reputation as the Godfather of Western European music, as a fountainhead of classical music theory and the creator of some of the greatest works the world has ever produced. Better known as a keyboard virtuoso, Bach was not regarded as a genius in his day, so how did this headstrong and belligerent but ambitious young musician become so extremely productive? What were his influences? How did he end up in jail and what did he get up to in Café Zimmerman? Discover all of this and more in this fascinating biography of a composer who, to Max Reger, represented 'the beginning and end of all music'. The narrative is illustrated with musical excerpts including the Brandenburg Concertos, Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, Harpsichord Concerto in D minor, The Art of Fugue, St Matthew Passion and the Mass in B minor among many others.

Strings Attached is the much anticipated authorised biography of John Williams, one of the most accomplished and celebrated musicians of his generation. From his childhood in Australia to his stellar career in London and around the world, John Williams has lived an extraordinary life. Master of the classical repertoire, he took the guitar to a wider audience with the band SKY and by his championing of the music of South America and Africa. William Starling came to know John Williams through their mutual friend, jazz guitarist John Etheridge. As their friendship developed, he put it to the maestro that it was time for a biography. To his lasting amazement, the famously private Williams agreed. Strings Attached is the product of extensive research and uniquely privileged access to John Williams, his family, friends and musical associates. It is the first telling of the fascinating life and career of a world-renowned musician and, equally, the story of a man and the making of his identity.

Filled with stunning artwork, this biography of comics pioneer Jack Kirby by an artist who worked closely with him is “a treasure” (The Cleveland Plain Dealer).

“As a teenager, future television and comics writer [Mark] Evanier became an assistant to Jack Kirby, one of the foremost artists in the history of American comics. Kirby played a major role in shaping the superhero genre, not only through his innovative, dynamic artwork but through collaborating with Stan Lee to create classic Marvel characters like the Fantastic Four, the Hulk and the X-Men. Evanier has now written this magnificently illustrated biography of his mentor. Rather than employing the academic prose that one might expect from an art book, Evanier, a talented raconteur, tells Kirby’s life story in an informal, entertaining manner . . . he brings Kirby’s personality vividly alive: a child of the Great Depression, a creative visionary who struggled most of his life to support his family. The book recounts how Kirby was insufficiently appreciated by clueless corporate executives and close-minded comics professionals. But the stunning artwork in this book, taken from private collections, makes the case for Kirby’s genius. A landmark work, this is essential reading for comics fans and those who want to better understand the history of the comics medium—or those who just want to enjoy Kirby’s incredible artwork.” —Publishers Weekly
