Summary

The Evolution of Data Science and the Information Age.Data science is a large vast time period that encompasses a variety of disciplines and standards which includes big data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), data mining and machine learning. The self-discipline of analyzing giant volumes of data recognized as ‘data science’, is relatively new and has grown hand-in-hand with the improvement and widespread adoption of computers. Prior to computers, records used to be calculated and processed by hand underneath the umbrella of ‘statistics’ or what we would possibly now refer to as ‘classical statistics’. Baseball batting averages, for example, existed properly earlier than the creation of computers. Anyone with a pencil, notepad and primary arithmetic abilities could calculate Babe Ruth’s batting common over a season with the useful resource of classical statistics. The method of calculating a batting common concerned the dedication of time to accumulate and assessment batting sheets, and the software of addition and division.
The key factor to make about classical data is that you don’t strictly need a laptop to work the statistics and draw new insight. As you’re working with small facts units it is feasible to even for pre-university college students to conduct statistics. Indeed data is nevertheless taught in colleges today, and as they have been for centuries. In this book you will learn all about machine learning and data mining. Hope you will love this book.

The UK’s most influential food and drink journalist shoots a few sacred cows of food culture.
The doctrine of local food is dead. Farmers’ markets are merely a lifestyle choice for the affluent middle classes. And ‘organic’ has become little more than a marketing label that is way past its sell by date. That may be a little hard to swallow for the ethically-aware food shopper but it doesn’t make it any less true. And now the UK’s most outspoken and entertaining food writer is ready to explain why.
This engaging, witty and honest narrative is driven by the appetite of one large man: Jay Rayner – someone who lives to eat, but also understands that there is a world beyond the high-end obsessions of the farmers’ market. Combining sharply-observed memoir – growing up with the UK’s most famous agony aunt who also happened to be a bloody good TV chef; witnessing the arrival of McDonald’s and Dayville’s ice cream in Seventies London; working as a butcher’s boy – with hard-nosed reportage, Jay Rayner will blow conventional foodie wisdom apart. For here is the reality: within a few decades we will have nine billion mouths to feed, and we won’t be doing that by flogging free-range chickens from a stall in Borough market.
Jay explains why the doctrine of organic has been eclipsed by the need for sustainable intensification; and why the future lies in large-scale food production rather than the cottage industries that foodies often cheer for. From the the cornfields of Illinois to the killing lines of Yorkshire abattoirs, Rayner takes us on a journey that will change the way we shop, cook and eat forever. And give us a few belly laughs along the way.
Rayner's top-notch culinary insights, combined with his best-in-class journalism, make this book a must-read. His unique perspective on cooking and food production challenges conventional wisdom and offers a fresh take on the future of food.
For fans of Edward Chisholm (A Waiter in Paris), Stanley Tucci (What I Ate in One Year), Anthony Bourdain (World Travel), Pen Vogler (Dinner with Mr Darcy), and Annie Gray (Food for Thought).

Freud's name is inseparable from his discovery of the unconscious and the consequences he drew from it: psychoanalysis.
This book takes up the issues raised by Freud with force and clarity, and sheds light on the crucial points. It shows how psychoanalysis' assault on humanity's self-esteem is still relevant today. To understand Freud is to enter the stage of otherness: we are not our only brain, nor our only body, nor our only family... Our specificity is to be subjects who speak, subject to the language that desire liberates.

The Mind of Fire is not merely a metaphorical expression, but a profound operational concept that reflects how fires move, “think,” and deceive those who confront them. Fire does not spread randomly; it follows precise patterns and responds dynamically to its environment—air, heat, and combustible materials—as if it operates according to its own internal logic.
Understanding The Mind of Fire means being able to read what exists before visible flames, interpret smoke movement, and anticipate thermal events before they occur. This understanding provides the field commander with a decisive advantage, enabling them to act not on what the incident appears to be, but on what it is about to become.
It is a fusion of science, perception, and tactics—where the firefighter transforms from a reactive responder into an intelligent reader of fire behavior, capable of controlling it before it imposes its destructive logic.
