Summary

Examining the Examiner of Srila Prabhupada’s Books

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, reverentially known as Srila Prabhupada, is the Founder-Acarya (spiritual master/ guru) of ISKCON (the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, or Hare Krishna movement). His Holiness Jayadvaita Swami, an ISKCON-authorised guru and Director of the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust (BBT), admits to having made large-scale changes (running into the thousands) to Srila Prabhupada’s Bhagavad-gita As It Is:

“And if the integrity of the books is in doubt, then everything’s in doubt. […] We should all be concerned about the integrity of Prabhupada’s books. […] I’ve undertaken a really large-scale revision […] How do you know we didn’t mess up?”- HH Jayadvaita Swami

Jayadvaita Swami is, therefore, a person who wields immense influence over the integrity of Srila Prabhupada's books, shaping what will be read as being the words of Srila Prabhupada for generations of devotees to come. Given this influence, it is only right and proper for us to examine Jayadvaita Swami’s integrity. And that is exactly what this book does.

In particular, we examine the following claim made to establish Jayadvaita Swami’s suitability for having undertaken this “really large-scale revision”:

“Since Srila Prabhupada's departure, Jayadvaita Swami has taken part in no philosophical heresies (and has spoken out against several), he has maintained his spiritual vows, he has served Srila Prabhupada steadily.” - bbtedit.com

And this examination is done using only the words of Jayadvaita Swami himself and those whom he accepts as bona fide authorities.

The late twelfth century. Japan stands on a precipice. The once-glorious Heian era fades, its refined courtly culture overshadowed by the burgeoning power of the warrior class. At the zenith of this new order stands the Taira clan, their crimson banners a symbol of absolute authority under the formidable, yet increasingly tyrannical, Taira no Kiyomori. His ambition knows no bounds, culminating in the manipulation of the Imperial succession – an act of sacrilege that plunges a nation into the abyss of civil war.
From the embers of past defeats, the Minamoto clan, the Genji, stirs. Minamoto no Yoritomo, an exile for two decades, his spirit tempered by hardship and a burning desire for retribution, receives a desperate call to arms from a wronged Imperial Prince. Cautious, calculating, and possessed of an unshakeable will, Yoritomo begins to weave a web of alliances in the Kanto, his stronghold of Kamakura destined to become the heart of a new warrior government.
"When Emperors Wept: The First Shogun's War" sweeps readers into the heart of the Genpei War, a five-year epic of ambition, honor, loyalty, and devastating betrayal. It is a story of towering personalities – the ruthless Kiyomori, the calculating Yoritomo, the tragic hero Yoshitsune, the indomitable warrior-monk Benkei, and the astute Hōjō Masako. The Chimú Empire, one of the most prominent pre-Columbian civilizations of the northern coast of Peru, flourished between the 9th and 15th centuries. This advanced civilization is known for its impressive urban centers, most notably the capital city of Chan Chan, which remains the largest adobe city in the world. At its height, the Chimú Empire controlled vast territories, from the southern border of the Moche Valley to the northern regions of present-day Ecuador. The empire was characterized by its highly structured society, advanced technology, and unique artistic traditions, which helped shape the cultural landscape of the Andean region.
The roots of the Chimú Empire trace back to the Moche culture, which had a significant influence on the development of the Chimú. However, the Chimú people took the foundational knowledge of their predecessors and expanded upon it, creating a powerful and sophisticated society. They established a series of city-states along the coast, which were eventually unified under the leadership of a single ruler, the Chimú king, who governed from Chan Chan.
The Chimú Empire’s political structure was highly organized, with a well-defined hierarchy that ranged from the elite rulers to the common people. The king, or "Sapa Chimú," was considered the most powerful figure, acting as both a political and spiritual leader. The empire was divided into regions, each overseen by local lords who managed administrative and religious duties within their territories. This hierarchical structure helped maintain control over the vast lands and resources of the empire.

As Adolph Hitler rose to power in 1930s Germany, a growing wave of fascism began to take root on American soil. Nazi activists started to gather in major American cities, and by 1933, there were more than one-hundred anti-Semitic groups operating openly in the United States. Few Americans dared to speak out or fight back—until an organized resistance of notorious mobsters waged their own personal war against the Nazis in their midst. Gangland-style . . .

In this thrilling blow-by-blow account, acclaimed crime writer Michael Benson uncovers the shocking truth about the insidious rise of Nazism in America—and the Jewish mobsters who stomped it out.

Packed with surprising, little-known facts, graphic details, and unforgettable personalities, Gangsters vs. Nazis chronicles the mob's most ruthless tactics in taking down fascism—inspiring ordinary Americans to join them in their fight. The book culminates in one of the most infamous events of the pre-war era—the 1939 Nazi rally in Madison Square Garden—in which law-abiding citizens stood alongside hardened criminals to fight for the soul of a nation. This is the story of the mob that's rarely told—and one of the most fascinating chapters in American history. And American organized crime.

When John Ramsay dropped into the Schorfheide Forest, north east of Berlin in 1944 his mission had two parts: to locate and infiltrate Goering's Headquarters, then once inside to blow the safe and steal the Nazi war plans. As a Commando, John Ramsay was trained for the first part, but it was only as Johnny Ramensky, Scotland's most infamous career thief that he was qualified to do the latter. A THIEF AND A HERO tells the extraordinary story of Gentle Johnny Ramensky: the son of Lithuanian immigrant parents who went on to become a household name as the foremost safe-blower in the country. His daring escapes from prison would further endear him to the public and eventually bring him to the attention of the British army. When the Second World War broke, he was hand-picked to join the Commandos and rechristened himself Ramsay. It was there that he used his talent and bravery for King and country, parachuting behind enemy lines to crack the safes of key people in the German High Command; Rommel and Goering among them.Thief.
