    Humility of Heart

This is the greatest book on humility ever written and will likely be the best book you will read in the next 5 years (outside of Holy Scripture). If everyone in the United States would adhere to the advice in this book, we would convert the world.
Here is how the book opens up:  "In Paradise there are many Saints who never gave alms on earth: their poverty justified them. There are many Saints who never mortified their bodies by fasting or wearing hair shirts: their bodily infirmities excused them. There are many Saints too who were not virgins: their vocation was otherwise.  But in Paradise there is no Saint who was not humble."
Below are a few more gems of wisdom contained in Humility of Heart. Fr. Cajetan da Bergamo has assembled in this incomparable Catholic classic every conceivable motive for us to practice the virtue of humility."
It is only by the measure of thy humility that thou canst hope to please God and save thyself, because it is certain that God ‘will save the humble of spirit.'" (Ps. 33:19—Page 60)."As paradise is only for the humble, therefore in paradise every one will have more or less glory according to his degree of humility." (Page 75)."Humility generates confidence, and God never refuses His grace to those who come to Him with humility and trust." (Page 93).
From every direction, he marshals up the reasons why this virtue is paramount in the lives of all Saints and of all those on the way of perfection. As no one will enter Heaven who is not perfect and as no one will gain perfection who is not humble, it behooves us all to apprise ourselves of the requisites for gaining true humility of heart, for once possessing this virtue, we can then make great strides in the spiritual life. But without it, we are simply deceiving ourselves regarding our spiritual progress and postponing the great work of our own salvation.

Pastor Conrad Mbewe Explores the Biblical Role of the Church, with a Focus on Africa
At the beginning of the twentieth century, Christians in Africa numbered approximately nine million—by the end, that number had grown to more than 380 million. As the number of Christians continues to grow, African pastors are often overwhelmed and in desperate need of guidance.
Drawing from 3 decades of pastoral experience in Zambia, Conrad Mbewe has written a
comprehensive handbook specifically for African pastors and church leaders. Structured around 20 commonly asked questions about God's design for the church, this helpful resource covers topics ranging from the definition of church and the role of church members to the importance of doctrine. Through this book, Mbewe aims to equip pastors and leaders with biblical principles that will "permeate the landscape of Africa and transform its churches for generations to come."

    - Written by an Experienced Pastor: Conrad Mbewe has over 30 years in ministry
    - Focus on African Diaspora Churches: Deals with issues plaguing the church in Africa such as family and tribal ties, the influence of African traditional religion, and misconceptions about the church
    - Globally Relevant: Essential biblical principles that are applicable to churches throughout the world

"When a man has reached the point where he can sit in meditation for six months there is no need of eating, No need of latrine or of rest. Only one drop of amrit nectar from the top of the head to the body keeps him alive." Dude Baba,1993

"Dude Baba was a dear friend and god brother to Maharaji. His deep, soulful kirtans and lectures are the highest bhakti, or devotion to Lord Ram, and yes, Babaji ate nothing for the last forty-five years of his life. A true Siddhi Yogi. You are blessed to be in his divine company." Baba Ram Das / Author 'BE HERE NOW'

Ram Krishna Das Vaishnaba, or Dude Dehari Baba, or Milk Baba was so named because he lived forty-five years entirely on one small cup of milk per day. No other food ever passed his lips. Baba lived in a small room by the Bagmati river at Pashiputinath temple, five kilometers outside of Katmandu. His beautiful matted hair, or jata, was over twenty-six feet long. Baba was a lifelong devotee of Lord Rama and God Brother and confidant of Neem Karoli Baba, the iconic guru of Baba Ram Das. Lord Rama, also known as Ramachandra, is the seventh avatar of Krishna, one of his most popular incarnations along with Parshurama, and Gautama Buddha. Rama was born to Kaushalya and Dasharatha in Ayodhya, the ruler of the Kingdom of Kosala. Dude Baba was always chanting the name of Rama and was a master musician and great singer of bhajans. In 1993 he met American devotee author Jagannatha Dasa and subsequently travelled to his farm community in Lockport, New York for a six-month residency at the SRI ashram there. While there Dasa arranged for Baba to begin a mammoth two week recording session with a host of popular Indian musicians in order to get his collected bhajans down on tape for posterity. Recorded too were several inspirational lectures. Here then is the fruit of a lifetime spent as an ardent servant of Lord Rama and liberating transcendental vibrations of a pure devotee.

The God Who Draws Near seeks to retrieve the key elements of a biblical spirituality and what they mean for our daily lives. Spirituality is very much a positive buzz word today; but in so many of the ways that it is used, it muddies the waters as to the nature of true spirituality. By going back to the sources, as the sixteenth-century Reformers would advise, namely, the Scriptures, this book draws together the main threads of a biblical spirituality and provides foundations for believers to anchor their lives in truth, love, and a growing relationship with the living God--that very God who has drawn near to us in love and grace through Jesus Christ. May these pages help you to draw near to him.
