Summary

Kieran isn’t like the other students on campus. His handshake is too firm, his smile too careful, and his questions about vending machines sound like field notes instead of small talk. Most people shrug him off. Evan doesn’t. He sees more than awkward pauses he sees someone fighting to belong.

What starts as simple help with coffee runs and class notes grows into something harder to ignore. Evan is pulled toward Kieran’s blunt honesty, his awe at everyday moments, and the quiet vulnerability behind his words. But the truth emerges quickly: Kieran isn’t just foreign. He’s from another world.

As friendship edges into something more, every step forward is shadowed by questions. How long can Kieran stay? What will it cost Evan to trust a man who may have to vanish? For Kieran, learning how to be human means facing a choice he was never meant to make whether love is worth breaking the rules that shaped him.

Two hearts. Two worlds. One fragile bond strong enough to test them both.

When belonging feels impossible, can love be the place they finally find home?

***

Part of the Otherworldly Hearts series, this story brings its own magical twist to love and laughter.

Otherworldly Hearts proves romance can bloom anywhere through time, across magic, even out among the stars. This clean MM romcom series pairs oddball characters with laugh-out-loud disasters and tender connections in worlds where the impossible feels almost ordinary.

Spells backfire, ghosts meddle, shifters wrestle instincts they’d rather ignore, and aliens stumble their way through the messy art of love. Each standalone story mixes comedy, warmth, and a romance that stays sweet but never boring.

Sometimes the strangest places lead to the most unexpected happily ever afters.

Their date turned out to be so much more, but not in the way they'd hoped.

Logan Cobalt rarely dates, but finds himself asking out the elusive waiter at Bailey's Café. Sure, he has spent numerous lunch hours chatting up the beautiful man over sandwiches, but nothing has come close to a real date. When Logan finds out Macy's hiding a secret, he will move heaven and earth to keep the man safe. After all, he runs a successful security and bodyguard business, so it wouldn't be hard to issue a protection detail. Would it?

Macy Finch has a secret, and keeping it quiet proves difficult. When Logan Cobalt finds out, Macy gives it up. What he really wanted was to deepen his relationship with Logan AFTER he took care of some things, not before. But when Logan asks him out on a real date, he just can't refuse. When things go south, Macy agrees to temporarily let Logan help. Now, if he could just get the man to realize he cannot be bossed around, they just might make this work.

After all . . . Their age difference is irrelevant.

Their income differences are not a factor.

Can the fact that Logan tries to treat Macy like a piece of porcelain glass be a problem?
