Summary

Spies like Jyp are hard to find.

Inflicting Christian names like Jefferson Youll on a young lad already saddled with a surname like Patbottom is a sufficient handicap for anyone, but if you have the misfortune to be educated at Watlington County Grammar and end up as thick as a plank, life gets very tricky indeed.

Settling for Jyp and braving a succession of dead-end jobs, he finds sanctuary in a Government statistics department dealing with figures. To escape the amorous attention of his ever-helpful colleague, Jyp dives into another office, where he is mistaken for a trained spy killer and recruited by one of Britain’s security departments.

Bumbling, he takes on a fight to unmask a series of trusted spies in the heart of Whitehall in a desperate battle to win the hand of his true love.

Jen Flanders here. Just another starving artist in New York City. I walk dogs for money, practice yoga for sanity, and hit up my friends at a local bakery to supplement my diet. Unfortunately, rent is due and I'm running out of cash.

After begging the universe for a sign that help is on the way, my phone pings with a text.

GOD: You can do it; I believe in you!

Wait?! GOD is texting me? I know it sounds crazy, but I'm so desperate, I'm willing to believe just about anything right now. So, I ask him for help.

On the first day of texting, he gets me a job that will keep me afloat. On the second day, he hooks me up with a killer wardrobe. And on the third, he agrees to meet me at a pub to discuss my future.

Only, it turns out GOD isn't a deity, but a divinely handsome lawyer named Gabriel Oliver Daily, who thinks he's been helping out his friend's little sister. He's the man of my dreams, but it's never going to happen between us because I'm a whack-a-doodle who thinks she's been texting the Lord himself, and, I don't know how to explain that to him. Plus, he's got a serious girlfriend, and they're perfect for each other.

    Although, I'm learning things aren't always as they appear . . .

Then there’s that peculiar one-legged crow constantly perched on his shoulder…or is it really a crow?
Even though Jesus lovingly warns Dr. Dunraven about the impending apocalypse, the good doctor doesn’t see “the invisible monster” coming until it’s too late.

Journey through the dusty plains of Texas and the rugged mountains of Colorado in author Jim Duke’s debut, DANCES WITH DONKEYS: The Memoir of a Half-Assed Cowboy—the often hilarious, occasionally poignant, sometimes hair-raising, and always entertaining tales of a man who dropped out of high school and took off for Texas to become a cowboy. In this captivating memoir, Duke recounts his adventures and ass-inine misadventures with mules, donkeys and horses as he introduces readers to the complexity and variety of personalities among these intelligent creatures. Through prose and poetry, he shows the deep bond that can form between humans and equines. Whether you're a fan of cowboy culture or just love a good memoir, DANCES WITH DONKEYS is reminiscent of cowboy poet laureate Baxter Black with a twist in the saddle. You'll laugh your "ass" off and come away with a whole new understanding of why little boys (and girls) grow up dreaming of being cowboys. Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind journey into the heart of the American West.
