  The Founding Presidents of the United States played a pivotal role in shaping the early direction of the nation. Their leadership laid the groundwork for the establishment of a new republic and the principles that would guide the country for generations. George Washington, the first President, set the tone for the presidency itself. His leadership during the Revolutionary War had earned him widespread admiration, and when the new government was formed, Washington was unanimously chosen as the first leader of the United States. His presidency established many of the precedents for the executive branch, including the creation of a Cabinet, the two-term limit, and the peaceful transfer of power. 
  Washington’s leadership was tested with several challenges during his presidency, most notably the issue of neutrality in foreign affairs. As tensions rose between France and Great Britain, Washington carefully navigated the country through these conflicts, urging the nation to avoid entanglement in European wars. His Farewell Address warned against permanent foreign alliances and political factions, offering advice that would resonate throughout American history. Washington’s decision to step down after two terms also set a significant precedent that would shape the expectations of future presidents. 
  Following Washington’s tenure, John Adams became the second President of the United States. A Federalist and a key figure in the early American Revolution, Adams had been a vocal advocate for independence and the formation of a strong central government. His presidency, however, was marked by political divisions and foreign policy struggles. The most notable event during his administration was the Quasi-War with France, which resulted from tensions over the French Revolution and the actions of the French government against American shipping.

  This is a snapshot of your personal and unique way of processing information. I’ve written it over a period of many years–tweaking it as I researched and learned more about our layers of learning. 
  I’ve taught violin, raised children, and given workshops (some for music students and some for authors of children’s books where we discussed the child’s development at various ages so that when they wrote a book, they knew the thinking of their characters). 
  Kids think differently in just a matter of a few months. What scared them at six years old at seven is just a matter of fact. What made them laugh at four is no longer funny at five.

  'I entered Goldenbridge orphanage in my Communion outfit. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing there.'At age seven, Bernadette Fahy was delivered with her three brothers to Goldenbridge Orphanage. She was to stay there until she was sixteen.
  Goldenbridge has come to represent some of the worst aspects of childrearing practices in Ireland of the 1950s and 1960s. Seen as the offspring of people who had strayed from social respectability and religious standards, these children were made to pay for the 'sins' of their parents. Bernadette tells of the pain, fear, hunger, hard labour and isolation experienced in the orphanage.
  Can a person recover from such a childhood? How does the spirit ever take flight -- and gain the 'freedom of angels'?
  This is Bernadette Fahy's concern. Now trained and working as a counsellor, she has had to dig deeply into her past to understand the patterns laid down by her upbringing. She has had to rebuild her life, and now she helps others to do the same.
  This book is a story of triumph over the harshest of circumstances.

  In ancient Egyptian mythology, the creation of the world was a profound and mystical event, explained through various narratives rooted in different regions. These myths aimed to answer fundamental questions about existence, the origins of the gods, and humanity's place within the universe. Among the most significant are the myths from Heliopolis, Hermopolis, and Memphis, each offering a unique perspective on creation. 
  The Ennead of Heliopolis tells the story of creation centered around Atum, the first god, who emerged from the chaotic waters of Nun. Atum, often depicted as a self-created deity, brought forth the twin deities Shu, god of air, and Tefnut, goddess of moisture, by spitting or coughing them out. These two then gave birth to Geb, the earth god, and Nut, the sky goddess. From their union came Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys, forming the Ennead, a group of nine deities. This myth emphasizes the power of creation through divine will and the subsequent emergence of order from chaos. 
  In Hermopolis, the Ogdoad myth presents a different version of creation. Here, eight primordial deities existed in male and female pairs, representing elements like darkness, water, and chaos. These pairs were Amun and Amaunet, Heh and Hauhet, Kek and Kauket, and Nun and Naunet. They resided in the watery abyss before merging their powers to create a primordial mound, from which the sun god Ra emerged, illuminating the world. This story highlights the collaboration of fundamental forces to bring forth light and life.
