Summary

In Liv’s Fight Against the Wild Tide, 15-year-old Liv is stranded on a mysterious island after a violent storm wrecks her family’s fishing expedition.

Armed only with her seafaring skills, Liv must navigate shifting tides, dangerous creatures, and a treasure hidden deep within the island’s heart. As the days stretch on, Liv learns that survival is about more than just battling the wild—it’s about discovering the strength within herself.

With humor, heart, and a touch of magic, Liv’s adventure proves that sometimes, the greatest treasures aren’t gold, but the lessons we learn along the way.

Brahma Yagnam is one of the important daily rituals to be performed by those following the Sanatana Dharma particularly those belonging to the brahmin community. It is a very simple process and would involve approximately 10 to 15 minutes daily.
As is well known, the Vedas have been classified into four groups by Sage Veda Vyasa as Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda and Atharvana Veda. Hinduism prescribes the learning, preserving and propagation of the Vedas particularly by the brahmin community. So, everyday after the Sandhyavandana in the afternoon, the learning process of the Vedas is required to be done. As a prelude to this process, the first mantra from each of the four Vedas is recited. While doing so, other important deities are worshipped in brief and tarpana, which may be called as oblations in English, is given to the Devas, Rishis and Pitrus. This is the Brahma Yagnam.
A brief summary of the various mantras contained in Brahma Yagnam relating to the Yajurveda followers is given in this audio book along with the recitation of the mantras.

A School Library Journal Best Book of the Year: “An utterly disarming, believable portrait of a small-town adolescent.”—The New York Times An ALA Best Book for Young AdultsOne of New York Public Library’s Books for the Teen-AgeAn American Book Award Nominee   Tex McCormick, fifteen, is happy—happy living in a small town in Oklahoma; happy living with his big brother Mason; and especially happy to live next door to his best friend Johnny, and Johnny's sister Jamie. But with money running out and no sign of Pop for months on end, Mason is getting nervous. He's talking about leaving Oklahoma too, for good. Feeling adrift, Tex goes looking for—and finds—trouble. When happiness is impossible to find, how will Tex keep himself and his family together?   This classic by the author of The Outsiders and Rumble Fish explores the true meanings of strength and vulnerability.   “In Tex, the raw energy for which Hinton has justifiably reaped praise has not been tamed—it’s been cultivated, and the result is a fine, solidly constructed, and well-paced story.”—School Library Journal

Many young believers want to tell others about their relationship with Jesus but aren’t sure how to begin or can become rattled by questions. In fact, many young believers have their own questions about Christianity and struggle to find answers.
Detective J. Warner Wallace helps kids develop good investigative skills, so they can navigate tough questions about faith and share what they’ve learned with others.
As in their other Case Makers Academy books, J. Warner and Susie Wallace teach kids to think like detectives by reaching into their detective tool bag. While they search for clues to the real owner of a lost puppy, the cadets learn how to be confident in sharing with friends the truth of their faith in Jesus.

A stand-alone companion to two-time Newbery Honor author Kevin Henkes’s award-winning and acclaimed The Year of Billy Miller. With themes of family, friendship, and resilience, this very funny school story focuses on Billy’s little sister, Sal, and her first day of school. For fans of Ramona, Ivy + Bean, and Dory Fantasmagory.
Sal has been looking forward to first grade for a long time. But her excitement quickly turns to disappointment when she learns that her best friend, Griff, is in the other first-grade classroom and has the most popular teacher. Then Sal’s name is spelled wrong on her name tag, she trips in front of the cool fifth graders, and her self-portrait doesn’t turn out the way she wanted it to. In fact, everything about school is an absolute disaster. Poor Sal!
Luckily for Sal, she has understanding parents, a terrific new teacher, and empathetic friends who remind her that it takes time to adjust to change. And sure enough, after a few days, Sal feels like herself again.
Still Sal highlights themes of family, friendship, social and emotional growth, resilience, and adapting to change. The fourth stand-alone book in the Miller Family sequence is an excellent choice for early elementary grades, for readers ready for a short novel, and for family and classroom read-alouds.
