Summary

When the sky is falling, do you save your friends or the world? 
Lieutenant Jennifer Slaughter takes command of a new, state of the art Marine Fishery Enforcement ocean-going vessel for its maiden voyage. With six crew, Jennifer's primary concern is with the last-minute addition of a rookie, replacing a qualified crewmember who trained alongside her and the others for three months. Patrice Lambert's personnel file is thin with unexplained gaps. Will she make the grade or be a hazard...or something else altogether. 
Jennifer learns her ship has been bought and paid for by the Department of Homeland Security leaving her little recourse when federal agencies want a hand in her normal operations. 
She and her crew find themselves in harms way when terrorists threaten major U.S. cities from the sea.
