Synopsis

Life is changing for the better as progress in the Lower continues. However, nobles such as Sir Martin are still attempting to hinder Victor's work. But Elis stumbles upon the opportunity to aid Victor after arresting Sir Martin's son for voyeurism. Though, the situation turns out to be more complicated than first thought, involving a headstrong noblewoman, a smitten, weak willed young heir and a lord who wants to profit from their union.
While Victor is trying to improve the conditions in the streets of the Lower, Elis is doing his part to keep them safe, but he also wants the same for Victor. After witnessing the skills of the newly formed canine unit during the arrest, Elis gifts Victor a puppy, with hopes she will grow to protect Victor when Elis is unable to. Though fiercely independent despite his blindness, Victor appreciates Elis's gift and takes him to bed and shows him how much fun training a naughty puppy can be.

This is not your mother's memoir. In The Chronology of Water, Lidia Yuknavitch expertly moves the listener through issues of gender, sexuality, violence, and the family from the point of view of a lifelong swimmer turned artist. In writing that explores the nature of memoir itself, her story traces the effect of extreme grief on a young woman's developing sexuality that some define as
untraditional because of her attraction to both men and women. Her emergence as a writer evolves at the same time and takes the narrator on a journey of addiction, self-destruction, and ultimately survival that finally comes in the shape of love and motherhood.

Sequel to Don't Call Me Jonathan
It's Christmas Eve, six months after Jon and Nathan uncovered the truth about their two families. High time to invite them all over for a Christmas dinner party at their house. But, as many people know, in a house full of loved ones, any number of things could go wrong. Especially when certain secrets are simmering in the background.
For starters, Nathan's sister Jennifer has been acting off lately -- enough to raise concerns about a possible relapse. And then there's Nathan's newly discovered brother Taylor, suspiciously tight-lipped about his new boyfriend.
When the two families fail to connect on Christmas Eve, with awkward silences and sideways glances, there's no telling what might happen once secrets start to surface left and right. It might take more than Jon's cooking to save their evening. Can the opposites-attract magic of Jon and Nathan bring their families together? Or will everyone remember this Christmas for the wrong reasons?
