Sinopse

"Media Influence" offers a comprehensive exploration of how modern media shapes our daily thoughts, decisions, and social behaviors in an age where we spend over seven hours daily consuming content. The book uniquely examines three interconnected spheres of influence: news organizations, entertainment platforms, and social media networks, revealing how these forces create powerful feedback loops affecting everything from consumer choices to political beliefs.

Through a blend of communication theory, psychology, and data science, the book demonstrates how media platforms employ sophisticated techniques to capture and maintain audience attention. The analysis progresses from traditional broadcasting to today's personalized content streams, incorporating fascinating research on digital behavior patterns and neurological responses to media stimuli.

For instance, the book examines how news framing affects public perception through detailed case studies of major events and their impact on policy-making. The work builds systematically across chapters, moving from an analysis of news media's agenda-setting role to entertainment media's influence on cultural norms, and finally to social media algorithms' impact on group behavior and belief reinforcement.

What sets this book apart is its integration of multiple research methodologies and real-world examples, making complex concepts accessible while maintaining scholarly rigor. For readers seeking to understand their media environment, the book provides practical strategies for critical consumption and maintaining balanced information diets in our increasingly complex digital landscape.

"When a man has reached the point where he can sit in meditation for six months there is no need of eating, No need of latrine or of rest. Only one drop of amrit nectar from the top of the head to the body keeps him alive." Dude Baba,1993

"Dude Baba was a dear friend and god brother to Maharaji. His deep, soulful kirtans and lectures are the highest bhakti, or devotion to Lord Ram, and yes, Babaji ate nothing for the last forty-five years of his life. A true Siddhi Yogi. You are blessed to be in his divine company." Baba Ram Das / Author 'BE HERE NOW'

Ram Krishna Das Vaishnaba, or Dude Dehari Baba, or Milk Baba was so named because he lived forty-five years entirely on one small cup of milk per day. No other food ever passed his lips. Baba lived in a small room by the Bagmati river at Pashiputinath temple, five kilometers outside of Katmandu. His beautiful matted hair, or jata, was over twenty-six feet long. Baba was a lifelong devotee of Lord Rama and God Brother and confidant of Neem Karoli Baba, the iconic guru of Baba Ram Das. Lord Rama, also known as Ramachandra, is the seventh avatar of Krishna, one of his most popular incarnations along with Parshurama, and Gautama Buddha. Rama was born to Kaushalya and Dasharatha in Ayodhya, the ruler of the Kingdom of Kosala. Dude Baba was always chanting the name of Rama and was a master musician and great singer of bhajans. In 1993 he met American devotee author Jagannatha Dasa and subsequently travelled to his farm community in Lockport, New York for a six-month residency at the SRI ashram there. While there Dasa arranged for Baba to begin a mammoth two week recording session with a host of popular Indian musicians in order to get his collected bhajans down on tape for posterity. Recorded too were several inspirational lectures. Here then is the fruit of a lifetime spent as an ardent servant of Lord Rama and liberating transcendental vibrations of a pure devotee.

The Egyptians were considered participants in the drama of sacred life as members of the natural cosmic order. In the Metaphysical and Funerary Treatises, the interaction between the Neteru and human beings is described without distinction of such conditions, emphasizing only the purity of the person’s life or intentions.
Since it was uncovered in the late nineteenth century, the Dynasty 12 papyrus A Dispute Between a Man and His Ba has intrigued translators. While the work raises issues about the social conditions of the time it was written, it is, without doubt, a reflection of Egyptian concepts about the spiritual aspects of One’s earthly life, just like the Ba, the Ka, and the transformation of the soul. In ancient Egypt, “sacred anatomy” has also been used to illustrate spiritual concepts and moral values, elements of great importance for the development of temple students.

Gilgamesh, Hercules, Aeneas, and Lancelot are instantly recognized as mythological heroes in the West, evoking visions of Persian monsters, ghastly labors, and the founding and glorification of cities, but the names of Mesoamerican gods remain as mysterious as their spelling. Even those who have come across their names when learning about the history of Mesoamerica – particularly the Aztec and various gods’ roles in the Spanish conquest of their empire – are often unaware that the Mesoamerican deities have tales that equal any of those in the repertoire of the mythological figures mentioned above.
As archaeologists quickly learned, there are numerous temples dedicated to gods all across Mesoamerica, from the Olmec and Toltec to the Aztec and Maya. Furthermore, thousands of people still gather in the ruins of Mesoamerican cities.
From the Aztec to the Maya, Quetzalcoatl - the Feathered Serpent - rears his beautiful head from magnificent relief carvings in temples no less grandiose than the largest pyramid in the region, that of Cholula in Mexico. Furthermore, thousands of people still gather in the great Mayan city of Chichén Itzá during the spring and autumn equinoxes to watch the shadow of the Feathered Serpent slither its way down the temple known as El Castillo.
To the Aztec, Huitzilopochtli wore a blue-green hummingbird helmet and was draped in pure white heron feathers. He carried a smoking mirror, an obsidian mirror, a shield, darts, and the serpent Xiuhcoatl that carried with it the fury and might of the sun. Everything about him - from his clothes to his weapons - emanated and defined royalty. His name meant Hummingbird of the South or Hummingbird of the Left (meaning the “Southern Part of the World”) in the native language of the Aztec, Nahuatl. In his kingly role he was not only irrevocably intertwined with war and conquest but also with trade, the things most important to the great Aztec Empire.

"He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee."

Expanding on his ideas from Thus Spoke Zarathustra, Nietzsche's radical polemic Beyond Good and Evil undermines the assumptions of traditional morality and encourages us to think more critically about the world in which we live.

In this famous text, Nietzsche considers past philosophers and religious leaders from Socrates to Descartes to Schopenhauer with a critical and pessimistic eye. Questioning the blind following of religious faith, he examines the deeper question of who is truly good or evil.

Beyond Good and Evil presents a unique perspective of the human mind offered through the words of one of history's most controversial philosophers.
