Sinopse

Only One of Me is the product of Lisa’s lifelong love of writing and friendship with award-winning children’s author Michelle Robinson. The two collaborated on this tender and moving rhyming poem, with charming illustrations by Catalina Echeverri, which is both a love letter to Lisa’s own daughters and a testament to the unwavering strength of parental love, a timeless message for families facing the challenges of bereavement.

The Only One of Me project grew from Lisa’s determination to leave a lasting legacy for her daughters and her desire to help other families rally against the difficulties of loss. Her activities have raised thousands for charity and huge public support through JustGiving has enabled the publication of these beautiful books. Sadly Lisa passed away in August 2019.

The Day the Crayons Quit is a playful and imaginative picture book told through a series of letters written by crayons to their owner, a young boy named Duncan. Each crayon expresses its frustrations, complaints, or dreams—Red is overworked, Blue is tired from coloring vast skies and oceans, while Beige feels overlooked. Through humor and creativity, the story explores themes of self-expression, empathy, and the importance of listening to different perspectives, all while celebrating the colorful power of imagination.

You should always be prepared for when a dragon tourist lands in your backyard.
Your visitor will need to meet the family, learn table manners and go sightseeing. Will you qualify as a top host?
While this hilarious book is full of silliness, it also explores language barriers and non-verbal communication.  The heartwarming ending leaves readers with a beautiful message of embracing differences, and how a hug has universal meaning.

Hall Of Mirrors by Fredric Brown - It is a tough decision to make—whether to give up your life so you can live it over again!
For an instant you think it is temporary blindness, this sudden dark that comes in the middle of a bright afternoon.
It must be blindness, you think; could the sun that was tanning you have gone out instantaneously, leaving you in utter blackness?
Then the nerves of your body tell you that you are standing, whereas only a second ago you were sitting comfortably, almost reclining, in a canvas chair. In the patio of a friend's house in Beverly Hills. Talking to Barbara, your fiancée. Looking at Barbara—Barbara in a swim suit—her skin golden tan in the brilliant sunshine, beautiful.
You wore swimming trunks. Now you do not feel them on you; the slight pressure of the elastic waistband is no longer there against your waist. You touch your hands to your hips. You are naked. And standing.
Whatever has happened to you is more than a change to sudden darkness or to sudden blindness.
You raise your hands gropingly before you. They touch a plain smooth surface, a wall. You spread them apart and each hand reaches a corner. You pivot slowly. A second wall, then a third, then a door. You are in a closet about four feet square.
Your hand finds the knob of the door. It turns and you push the door open.
There is light now. The door has opened to a lighted room ... a room that you have never seen before.
