Summary

Egyptian Pyramid Secrets explores the fascinating world of ancient Egyptian pyramids, moving beyond common myths to uncover their true historical and cultural significance. The book reveals that these iconic structures were not merely tombs but complex monuments designed to facilitate the pharaoh's divine transformation. Intriguingly, the pyramids' construction was deeply intertwined with religious beliefs, as evidenced by sacred texts that provide insight into the ancient Egyptian worldview and their relationship with the divine.

Beginning with the evolution of pyramid building from early mastabas to the grand structures at Giza, the book delves into the religious rituals and symbolic meanings associated with these monuments. The exploration extends to the architectural features, including internal chambers and passageways, while also analyzing the evidence for undiscovered chambers.

By combining archaeological research with an exploration of esoteric beliefs, Egyptian Pyramid Secrets offers a balanced perspective, separating fact from fiction, and providing readers with a deeper understanding of these ancient wonders.

When Krishnamurti's Notebook first became available in 1976, it was soon realized that it was a spiritually unique document giving his perceptions and experiences and describing his states of consciousness. It is a kind of diary but one that is little concerned with the day to day process of living, though very much aware of the natural world.
Jiddu Krishnamurti was born on 11 May 1895 in Madanapalle, a small town in south India. He and his brother were adopted in their youth by Dr Annie Besant, then president of the Theosophical Society. Dr Besant and others proclaimed that Krishnamurti was to be a world teacher whose coming the Theosophists had predicted. To prepare the world for this coming, a world-wide organisation called the Order of the Star in the East was formed and the young Krishnamurti was made its head.
In 1929, however, Krishnamurti renounced the role that he was expected to play, dissolved the Order with its huge following, and returned all the money and property that had been donated for this work.
From then, for nearly sixty years until his death on 17 February 1986, he travelled throughout the world talking to large audiences and to individuals about the need for a radical change in mankind.

    I AM not amused - A Christian...

Media Entertainment has taken over the western world and with every passing year it overtakes us with increasing voracity. As Christians, we have a duty to be salt and light in a waning world and that is where I AM Not Amused enters the picture. Two errors have arisen in the Christian world with regards to entertainment:Non-critical InvolvementTotal Separation
I AM Not Amused is about learning to balance being in the world, but not of the world. Throughout this book, we will learn how to weigh our involvement in pop culture against our call to be holy, using the popular arts as a springboard to reach lost people in the world. We also gain an understanding of what is at stake if we continue consuming Hollywood productions without thinking about the consequences. This book is a journey through the early days of media including the history of ratings, propaganda, and some of the legal matters impacting the entertainment industry as a whole. Finally we learn about the steps we should take to evaluate our own entertainment.
In brief summary, I first explain my purpose and motivation for writing this book as I journey through my adolescence in a media-saturated home. I talk about how music, movies, and video games shaped my life both for the better and the worse as I was raised in a home without boundaries.
The next two chapters examine whether or not media entertainment can actually impact us as we consume music, movies, and video games. Rather than take a usual Christian approach, we see what the artists and producers themselves say including quotes from Michael Greene, George Lucus, Marilyn Manson, and more. After examining how we can be impacted we see specifically what artists themselves say about the message behind the content they produce. This section does a deep dive into the messages behind Manson, George Harrison, and Insane Clown Posse among others.
After seeing what the entertainment industry produces, we tour through the Bible looking for what God’s Word has to say about media, our involvement, and our purpose. We start with a call to letting our minds dwell on holy things, then living out our life as a believer rather than a member of the world. Finally we address the two critical errors highlighting the benefits and pitfalls of each as we develop a plan to live better before God in our media-saturated times.
After a brief detour through the struggles of addiction including steps to overcome besetting sins, we provide steps for believers to incorporate into their lives to determine if certain forms of amusement are profitable for us to consume.
All together, this book is a guide to interacting with Media Entertainment for our amusement, and for our engagement with the world as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission.

An evidence-based approach to community college transformation featuring innovative practices that strengthen offerings and foster student successIn More Essential Than Ever, researchers Davis Jenkins, Hana Lahr, John Fink, Serena C. Klempin, and Maggie P. Fay center US community colleges as critical to upward mobility and workforce development in their communities, highlighting new practices these institutions are using to build high-quality programs and support students' educational and career success.Drawing on a decade of research on whole-college guided pathways reforms at more than 100 community colleges nationally, they illustrate how colleges have implemented large-scale changes to help students better navigate the journey to completion. They argue, however, that to achieve better and more equitable outcomes—and to recruit and retain more students in a highly competitive market—colleges must not only remove barriers to completion but also strengthen pathways to student goals after graduation, thus making their investment of money, time, and effort worth it.The book provides compelling case studies of how colleges are achieving this along five frontiers: strengthening program career and baccalaureate transfer outcomes, teaching students to be versatile learners, strengthening recruitment and onboarding, ensuring students complete in as little time and at as low a cost as possible, and building on-ramps to high-opportunity postsecondary pathways from high school. The book also gives practical guidance for college leaders on managing and funding these innovations and for state policymakers on encouraging and supporting them.
