ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK
The Lake House by Kate Morton is a historical mystery set in two timelines. In 1933, Theo Edevane, a young child, mysteriously disappears from his family’s estate, Loeanneth, during a summer party. Alice, his older sister, is deeply affected, and the family is torn apart by the tragedy. In 2003, detective Sadie Sparrow is drawn into the case when she discovers the abandoned estate. As Sadie investigates, long-buried family secrets emerge. The novel explores themes of loss, family, memory, guilt, and the enduring impact of the past, blending elements of mystery with historical fiction.
