ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK
"Holes" by Louis Sachar tells the story of Stanley Yelnats, a boy who is sent to a juvenile detention camp called Camp Green Lake for a crime he did not commit. There is no lake at Camp Green Lake; instead, the boys are forced to dig holes in the hot desert. Stanley soon discovers that there is more to this pointless activity than meets the eye, and the past seems to intertwine with the present as he uncovers a mystery involving his family history, a curse, and buried treasure. The book explores themes of fate, justice, and friendship as Stanley navigates the challenges of the camp and forges a strong bond with another camper, Zero.
