ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK
“Divergent is set in a dystopian future where society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to a particular virtue: Abnegation (selflessness), Dauntless (bravery), Erudite (intelligence), Amity (peace), and Candor (honesty). The story follows Beatrice "Tris" Prior, a sixteen-year-old girl who discovers that she doesn't fit neatly into any one faction, a trait known as being Divergent. As she navigates the brutal initiation process in Dauntless, she uncovers dangerous secrets about her society. The novel explores themes of identity, conformity, free will, and the consequences of power, all set against a backdrop of rebellion and personal discovery.
