ABOUT THE ORIGINAL BOOK
In "Blood Bound" by Patricia Briggs, mechanic Mercy Thompson, who can shapeshift into a coyote, agrees to help her vampire friend Stefan. They must deliver a message to another vampire, Asmodeus, who has a demon inside him, making him a dangerous sorcerer. Mercy is tasked to be an impartial witness, but quickly becomes embroiled in a battle against evil. Mercy's ability to shift makes her valuable to the vampires, who have to contend with a demon-possessed vampire and the danger he presents. The story is a supernatural thriller, with themes of good versus evil, the complexities of power, and the fight to protect the innocent in a world where supernatural forces exist. The narrative also explores complex relationships between vampires and werewolves.
