Summary

Daily Calm Boosts tackles the modern stress epidemic by transforming scientific insights into practical, bite-sized strategies for everyday life. Centered on three pillars—mindfulness reframing, cognitive-behavioral micro-practices, and environmental optimization—the book argues that tranquility is a skill anyone can cultivate through small, consistent habits. It challenges the myth that stress relief requires hours of meditation, showcasing how five-minute daily practices, like breath-counting or clutter reduction, can cumulatively rewire the brain (thanks to neuroplasticity) and slash anxiety by 40% in just eight weeks. With 55% of adults facing daily stress but few having tools to manage it, this approach bridges the gap between research and real-world application.

What sets Daily Calm Boosts apart is its modular, non-prescriptive toolkit. Instead of rigid routines, readers get adaptable techniques—like "thought audits" to disrupt negativity or workspace tweaks to boost focus—that fit into busy lives. The book progresses logically, starting with stress physiology basics, then diving into specific methods, and finally guiding readers to combine strategies into personalized plans. Its "calm audit" framework helps identify hidden stressors, from inbox clutter to social interactions, while metaphors like "mental plaque" simplify complex neuroscience. Written in a relatable tone, it balances data with empathy, making resilience feel achievable rather than overwhelming.

By emphasizing consistency over intensity, this guide democratizes stress management for professionals, parents, and caregivers. It’s not just about coping but thriving—turning daily moments into opportunities for lasting calm.

Think and Grow Rich (1937) by Napoleon Hill is one of the most influential personal development and success books ever written. Based on over 20 years of research and interviews with some of the most successful individuals of his era—including Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, and Thomas Edison—Hill outlines a philosophy of achievement centered on mindset, belief, and purposeful action.Rather than focusing only on money, the book argues that "riches" can mean success in any area of life: wealth, career, relationships, or personal fulfillment.Core PremiseHill's central idea is that thoughts are powerful forces. When combined with clear goals, unwavering faith, persistence, and disciplined action, they can transform into tangible success. The 13 Principles of SuccessThe book is structured around 13 key principles, including:Desire – A burning, definite purpose is the starting point of all achievement.Faith – Belief in your goal fuels persistence and resilience.Autosuggestion – Reprogramming the subconscious mind through repetition and affirmation.Specialized Knowledge – Applying focused, practical knowledge rather than general education.Imagination – The workshop of the mind where ideas are formed.Organized Planning – Turning ideas into actionable plans.Decision – Avoiding procrastination and cultivating decisiveness.Persistence – Sustained effort despite setbacks. The Master Mind Principle – Aligning with like-minded individuals to amplify results. The Subconscious MindThe BrainThe Sixth Sense – Intuition developed through disciplined thinking. Why It's Still RelevantAlthough written during the Great Depression, the book remains widely read because its principles focus on mindset, clarity of purpose, and strategic action—concepts that still underpin entrepreneurship, leadership, and personal achievement today. In essence:Think and Grow Rich teaches that success begins in the mind—and that disciplined thought, backed by action and persistence, can shape reality.

A child is a sensitive little thing! - Yes, and?! What's wrong with that? Maybe your child even belongs to the group of highly sensitive people. Unfortunately, however, "being sensitive" is often pronounced with a negative undertone. You may have noticed that your child perceives certain stimuli, no matter on what level, particularly intensively or even more readily than you do. It could also be that your child withdraws more often, wants to be to himself or herself, or screams and rages loudly from one second to the next. But does that make your child a "highly sensitive child"? And if so, how can you deal with it and accompany and support it in its special emotional life? Do you raise a highly sensitive child differently? Questions regarding the daycare center routine or the school experience for highly sensitive children are also answered in this book. In addition, you will become part of a process that begins with yourself and is intended to bring you closer to your child.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. Wallace D Wattles was an American author, born in 1911.

He was probably most famous for his book "The Science of Getting Rich", although he wrote several other books describing the Science of Being Well, and the Science of Being Great.

He was a man very knowledgeable about the world and the natural laws that exist, and this short book is a collection of his writings on what he termed scientific principles, or natural laws.

He first addresses the topic of Time, in "The Eternal Now", and how it is most important to think in the "now" rather than the future, or past.

He then goes on to "speak" about two natural laws of the universe, which are related - The Law of Attraction, and The Law of Cause and Effect. These are about how we attract in life what we habitually think about, and how for every effect, there is a cause.

Lastly, he goes on to discuss Quantum Physics, and how our world is put together.

The four parts end with a summary created by myself, Peter Burgess, who compiled these four topics, in which I provide a short overview of each, together with my own interpretation of an aspect of quantum physics.

These are quite technical topics and should ideally be listened to with the ebook open, in order to follow, and read the text. They may need listening to, a few times, to fully understand what he is saying, but these books contain some really useful information about how our world works, and how best to achieve what it is that you desire in life.

    Definitely worth a listen.

"Night Connections 2," a soulful follow-up to "Night Connections," is a collection of stories, mostly collected from listeners to Dick Summer's middle of the night radio program on NBC Radio. They are very short connections, but they will stay with you for as long as you stay with them. Connections are fragile. It is only touching you that gives them life.
