Middle school students Emma and Peter are assigned Act I of Romeo and Juliet to read for homework. Peter wants to get a better copy than his tattered paperback. So he climbs up onto a chair in his mother’s study to retrieve her heavy Riverside Shakespeare. Just as he tugs on it, the chair moves and the book hits him on the head. When Peter regains consciousness, he can speak only in lines from Shakespeare. So instead of saying a simple "hello," he might say something like, "How dost thou?" or instead of a simple "goodbye" he might say, "Parting is such sweet sorrow."
Emma Malcolm narrates this appealing young adult fantasy. She describes herself and her neighbor Peter Marlowe as “happy nerds.” Yet when Peter suddenly becomes unable to speak modern English, everything changes. As hard as Peter tries to speak for himself, his words come out as Shakespeare’s own. His strange speech irritates Emma at the school bus stop and embarrasses her in the baseball stadium. Emma thinks so, too, but she soon realizes that he cannot help himself. However, when he discovers that he can text and instant message in modern English, Emma becomes his translator.
English is Peter’s favorite class, and Ms. Hastings is his favorite teacher. Ms. Hastings decides to guide the class even further into Shakespeare’s world. She determines to help them put on the 30-Minute version of Romeo and Juliet. Peter and Emma will be the leads, the play’s star-crossed lovers—after all, Romeo and Juliet were about their age. Emma has never kissed a boy, and she realizes that she is about to experience her first kiss in front of the whole school.
This engaging comedy introduces Shakespeare’s language gracefully, making it part of a light and charming fantasy about language and first love.

Written for readers age 10 and up -- enjoyed by adults!"Frank felt his heart beat fast. At that moment he was certain God was calling him, asking him to give up his ties to his homeland and set out across the Atlantic Ocean. He did not hesitate to stand when John Wesley asked preachers to walk forward if they felt God was calling them to the American colonies."One of the first Methodist bishops in America, English-born Francis Asbury devoted his life to ministry, traveling on horseback to preach and teach to those living on the vastly isolated American frontier. Alone in a new country, with no home of his own, Asbury rode over 300,000 miles -- across rivers and through rocky, overgrown roads -- shining God’s light on the fledgling colonies. When many Methodist clergy left America during the Revolutionary War, Asbury stayed. His tireless leadership saw the movement grow from 5,000 members in 1776 to 214,000 at the time of his death, fulfilling the great destiny of his call and inspiring future generations.

This collection brings together sixteen classic lost science-fiction short stories from the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s, all centered on humanity’s most dangerous obsession: the ability to move through time.
These stories explore time not as a convenience, but as a trap. A single step into the past can erase a lifetime. A glimpse of the future can destroy the present. Memory, identity, causality, and free will are all put on trial as ordinary people, reluctant travelers, and brilliant meddlers discover that time resists being touched—and punishes those who try.
From paradoxes and closed loops to bureaucratic futures, fractured realities, and histories that refuse to stay fixed, these tales represent the golden age of speculative fiction at its sharpest and most imaginative. Featuring multiple stories by Philip K. Dick, along with classics by Frederik Pohl, Fritz Leiber, Damon Knight, Fredric Brown, and others, this collection delivers thought-provoking ideas, dark irony, and unforgettable twists.
