Summary

A crowd of noblemen gathers, their pampered bodies packing the cavernous throne room. They murmur in awe, gazing toward the young man bound in gold chains. 
Alric walks slowly through the center of the chamber, feeling their eyes upon his bare flesh. His gilded bindings are tight, a physical symbol of unquestioning devotion. The onlookers relish his small, unsteady steps as he struggles toward the man sitting upon the throne. 
A foul magic flows through the hall. Silently and seductively, it warps and twists the mind. None are spared from its corrupting influence. None can deny the social transformation being wrought before their eyes. 
Tonight, a new hierarchy will be born.
