Despite the fact he had instructed his psycho-color experts to design his inner consultation office in as soothing a shade as scientifically possible, the patient was sweating profusely, awaiting the verdict. The room was comfortably air-conditioned. 
  The patient was a little fat man. The face was putty-white. Eyes shifty, breathing rapid, voice shaky and twisting of the hat. This man would be dead in three weeks, and he, Dr. Jules Craig, had to lie to the man. With an unpleasant sensation, he summoned his resolution, looked at the name near the upper left-hand corner of the charts, and spoke. 
  "You have no cause for worry, Elder Wayman," he said. He forced his voice to sound as smoothly professional as possible.

  Monks have understood that truely lasting happiness comes irrespective of material goods, comforts and commodities. Eventually, spiritual happiness (ananda) comes from the soul, part and parcel of God. The mind in this respect is like a wild lion, which is dangerous to encounter. One might be killed and eaten up by the obstinate mind, but there is hope, because the mind can be tamed. This is possible through suitable practice and detachment. “For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but for one who has failed to do so, his mind will remain the greatest enemy.” (BG. 6.6) In this book a thought-provoking path is presented to 1) establish a spiritual connection with the Absolute Truth, 2) to channel emotions, thoughts and ecstasies through this connection 3) to bring about a revolution in one's boring and stagnant material life and 4) to reawaken spiritual love for God. In due course of this book we will explore the greatest service to humanity that is described in the scriptures as bhakti-yoga. This ancient science is aimed to establish a mindset of deep thinking and profound spiritual understanding. Simultaneously, one becomes tuned to the greatest ability that is to manage life and death, respectively. “One who is not disturbed in mind even amidst the threefold miseries or elated when there is happiness, and who is free from attachment, fear and anger, is called a sage of steady mind.” (Bhagavad-Gītā 2.56) We are aware, that not everyone is yet ready to fully surrender to this practice, however, we are assured that everyone can practice Bhakti-Yoga and establish the principles which have been mindfully cultivated by monks throughout the ages. The Monk's Mindset will be duly presented so that even a child can understand it.

  To the ancient Egyptians, the gods and goddesses were all around them and could be seen daily in nature. Nearly every animal found in ancient Egypt, both domestic and wild, were associated with a god or goddess, which can be seen in Egyptian art where deities are often depicted with human bodies and animal heads. Or sometimes the deities are portrayed as complete animals. Since deities were associated with certain animals, all animals of a specific species were given divine and protected status.  
  Animals were constantly involved in the core elements of Greek society and cults, and this centrality could be found in the numerous depictions of animals on coins and vases throughout the Greek colonies. Game and fish were plentiful, along with deer, wolves, boar, lynx, and even bears. Similarly, there were numerous jackals and porcupines. There were, however, a few significant species that would have been found in the wild in Classical times, such as the agrimis (or Cretan goat) and the lion, that have either become totally extinct or virtually extinct in the modern-day region. Lions, in particular, often feature in Greek literature, and both Herodotus and Aristotle described lions in northern Greece. The presence of lions in Greece seems further confirmed by their numerous portrayals in Mycenaean art and tales of lions in Homer. 
  Rome's complex relationship with animals goes right back to its foundation myth, and even today, the wolf remains a symbol of the Eternal City, forming part of the logo for the capital's football team, A.S. Roma. According to tradition, the city of Rome was founded by Romulus, who, with his brother Remus, was nursed and sheltered by a she-wolf. That tale, widely believed as a historical fact by ancient Romans, had a profound influence on Roman culture, and in part that shaped Roman attitudes toward their animals.
