“The Weird Circle” was an anthology of classic thrillers from the pens of the world’s best-known and respected fiction authors of the 19th Century. The focus was horror and suspense stories by Edgar Allan Poe, Robert Louis Stevenson and Mary Shelley (among others) with the occasional drama by Emily Bronte, Charles Dickens and George Eliot. “The Weird Circle” was produced in New York by NBC and offered in syndication. The narrator of “The Weird Circle” sat in a cave by a restless sea and instructed a bell keeper to “toll the bell so all may know that we are gathered again in the weird circle for another strange and weird story from out of the past.” Casts included New York’s steady pool of busy supporting actors including: Lawson Zerbe, Eleanor Audley, Jackson Beck, Mason Adams, Raymond Edward Johnson and Arnold Moss.

The Spanish Tragedy, or Hieronimo is Mad Again is an Elizabethan tragedy written by Thomas Kyd between 1582 and 1592. Highly popular and influential in its time, The Spanish Tragedy established a new genre in English theatre, the revenge play or revenge tragedy. Its plot contains several violent murders and includes as one of its characters a personification of Revenge. The Spanish Tragedy was often referred to (or parodied) in works written by other Elizabethan playwrights, including William Shakespeare, Ben Jonson, and Christopher Marlowe. Many elements of The Spanish Tragedy, such as the play-within-a-play used to trap a murderer and a ghost intent on vengeance, appear in Shakespeare's Hamlet. (Thomas Kyd is frequently proposed as the author of the hypothetical Ur-Hamlet that may have been one of Shakespeare's primary sources for Hamlet.) “This may be an anthology for anyone who’s been broken-hearted, but it’s not an anthology for anyone who’s faint-hearted . . . Superb” (Entertainment Weekly).  It’s Not You, It’s Me is a poetry anthology—at once amusing, angry, sweet, and bitter—that gives a fresh voice to the all-too-familiar experience of ending a relationship. Williams has compiled over ninety poems by contemporary writers including Denis Johnson and Kim Addonizio, as well as former poets laureate Robert Hass, Maxine Kumin, and Mark Strand, whose comforting and healing words dragged him out of his breakup-induced depression. We have all been through a breakup, but these poems have created an art out of heartbreak: sharing their wisdom on the pain of the flip side of romance, and poking fun at the mess we become at the mercy of love.   “This collection . . . gathers many of the poems that have helped Williams (a poet himself, with two books to his name) through his rooms of anguish over the years. Happily, they’re pretty great.” —The New York Times   “In It’s Not You, It’s Me: The Poetry of Breakup today’s big contemporary poets make breaking up and even divorce sound painfully beautiful. You’ll want to read with a box of tissues, a pint of chocolate ice cream and sappy love songs playing in the background.” —Lemon Drop Literary

A poetic guide for Armageddon, this poetry collection moves through technological disasters, environmental nightmares, and broken relationships to find love cast away at the end of days. The urban settings are counterbalanced with the idea of escape, deserted islands, and ocean solitudes. In this assemblage of playful, challenging, and beautiful poems, Jacqueline Turner uses the interrobang's question mark combined with an exclamation point, the excited question's a symbol of our times to move the work through a host of genres. Like notes washed ashore in bottles, this book seeks an exchange and its scope is as vast as the question of how to survive modernity.
