Cedric - Footprints in the Sand is an epoch dog tale. Inspired by the true story of a shipwrecked Newfoundland dog who wandered into a small coastal village. Finding his way to the end of a pier, he would spend the remainder of his years rescuing twenty-three people from other shipwrecks.

During the Victorian Era, the great English painter, Sir Edwin Landseer, did a portrayal of the dog with the sea and gulls behind him. However, it was painted thirty years after the dog had died and there is little known about this remarkable creature. With a spark of creative industry, Barry Stebbing began filling in many of the blanks in this masterful tale of historical fiction believing it is a true classic in the making.

Cedric is a delightful read for all ages. Written with a touch of prose, it allows the reader's imagination to wander into a wonderful era. Along with following Cedric as he fights his way through tumultuous seas to rescue shipwrecked souls, the reader follows the life of a young aspiring artist and that of many other intriguing Dickens-like characters, traveling through various chapters with a soft flow of faith and romance.

Animal stories invariably have a way of touching one's heart and the author's purpose is to bring the reader to a sublime place above the mundane cares of the world; to ponder upon things that are good, and pure, and uplifting, long after the final page is read.

The Possessed is a novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky, first published in the journal The Russian Messenger in 1871–72. It is considered one of the four masterworks by Dostoevsky after his return from Siberian exile, along with Crime and Punishment (1866), The Idiot (1869), and The Brothers Karamazov (1880). Demons is a social and political satire, a psychological drama, and a large-scale tragedy. Joyce Carol Oates has described it as "Dostoevsky's most confused and violent novel, and his most satisfactorily 'tragic' work." According to Ronald Hingley, it is Dostoevsky's "greatest onslaught on Nihilism", and "one of humanity's most impressive achievements—perhaps even its supreme achievement—in the art of prose fiction."

The work is an allegory of the potentially catastrophic consequences of the political and moral nihilism that was becoming prevalent in Russia in the 1860s. A fictional town descends into chaos as it becomes the focal point of an attempted revolution, orchestrated by master conspirator Pyotr Verkhovensky. The mysterious aristocratic figure of Nikolai Stavrogin—Verkhovensky's counterpart in the moral sphere—dominates the book, exercising an extraordinary influence over the hearts and minds of almost all the other characters. The idealistic, Western-influenced generation of the 1840s, epitomized in the character of Stepan Verkhovensky (who is both Pyotr Verkhovensky's father and Nikolai Stavrogin's childhood teacher), is presented as the unconscious progenitors and helpless accomplices of the "demonic" forces that take possession of the town.

Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, sometimes transliterated as Dostoyevsky, was a Russian novelist, short story writer, essayist, and journalist. A true audiobook original treasure!

At the age of seven, in a London workhouse, newly orphaned James meets ten-year-old Peter. Mysterious, mercurial, thoughtless to the point of cruelty, Peter nonetheless takes a liking to James. The two forge a strange friendship, bound together by their shared love of stories—stories of a magical island called Neverland, where they adventure as the pirate James Hook and the child-king Peter Pan. But one fateful night, Peter vanishes from his bed, and in the morning, James is found lying alone and broken in the courtyard outside. Only James saw Peter fly from the workhouse roof in pursuit of a star, and nobody but James believes that the star was a fairy.

Over twenty years later, on the deck of a whaling ship in the frozen wastes of the Arctic, First Mate James Hook sees the same star again.

James's obsession with finding his childhood friend will lead him to mutiny and murder, beyond the edges of the world, and finally to an island that shouldn't exist. But neither Neverland nor Peter are what they appear. A new story is about to begin, and not all stories have happy endings.

    Contains mature themes.
