WHAT I’M PROPOSING IS A METHOD OF TECHNIQUES FOR THE MARKETER (YOU) TO:
    Fall behind the noise
Open access to your full spectrum of emotions first.
Marketers can not make anyone feel. No body has control over someone else's feelings. Emotions simply... exist. In context.
Marketers can create stimuli to activate a customer’s nervous system and trigger a purchase behavior.
My book explores how to unpack societal “shoulds” from a personal level. Taking this a step further, I then translate this exact concept to specific case studies and marketing strategies we see live in today’s marketplace. Side by side I compare the factual outputs with how it would look using the applied Core Method.
My hope is that The Holistic Marketer activates a flicker from YOUR core, inspiring you to connect your own dots from a place of kind curiosity, unlocking access to a soft landing as you make decisions among others in the moment.

When the Spartans’ famous and sacrificial stand at the Battle of Thermopylae ended during the Second Persian War, the Athenian fleet was forced to fall back, and Xerxes’ massive Persian army marched unopposed into Greece before advancing on Athens. The Greek armies were scattered and unable to face the might of Persia, so Athens was forced to do the unthinkable: evacuate the entire population of the city to Salamis, from where the Athenians watched in horror as Xerxes’ troops plundered the defenseless city, set it aflame, and razed the Acropolis.
However, the Athenians remained belligerent, in part because according to the oracle at Delphi, “only the wooden wall shall save you.” Indeed, this would prove true when Themistocles managed to lure the Persian fleet into the straits of Salamis. There, on a warm day in September 480 BCE, hundreds of Greek and Persian ships faced each other in a narrow strait between the Attic peninsula of Greece and the island of Salamis. The battle that ensued would prove to be epic on a number of different levels, as it set a precedent for how later naval battles were fought in the ancient Mediterranean, turned the tide in the Greeks’ favor against the Persians in the Persian Wars, and ultimately played a role in Athens’ rise to a preeminent role in the Hellenic world.
As one of Rome’s most famous battles, the Battle of Actium has taken on a life of its own in popular memory. One of the longest-held myths about the battle is that Cleopatra, sensing defeat, began to sail away from the fight in the middle of the day, and the love struck Antony followed her with his own ship, abandoning his men in the middle of the fight. While that popular myth would be in keeping with explaining Cleopatra’s irresistible charm and magnetism, contemporary accounts of the battle do not suggest it was the case.

Simplicity is often misunderstood as a lack of sophistication or depth. In truth, simplicity is about intentionality, clarity, and focus. It's not about stripping life down to the barest essentials but about discerning what truly matters and eliminating distractions. The art of simplifying is a practice that allows us to shift our energy from the constant demands of modern life to what brings us true fulfillment.
The journey toward simplification begins with the recognition that not everything in our lives needs to be kept or held onto. We live in an age of excess—excess information, excess material possessions, and excess commitments—that often leaves us feeling overwhelmed and disconnected. When we declutter our lives, we free up space for what truly matters: deeper connections, meaningful work, and moments of peace. By embracing simplicity, we allow ourselves to be more present and engaged in each aspect of our daily lives.
In simplifying, we are also clearing the mental space necessary to make conscious choices. This process begins with letting go of the unnecessary, which can take many forms. This might involve removing items from your physical space, choosing to disconnect from digital distractions, or reevaluating relationships and commitments that no longer align with your values. The key to simplification is not to eliminate everything but to approach each area of life with discernment, asking whether it serves a purpose or brings joy.

'A brilliant, searing exposé of the lies underpinning work' - Owen Jones

'Work hard, get paid.' It's simple. Self-evident. But it's also a lie—at least for most of us. For people today, the old assumptions are crumbling; hard work in school no longer guarantees a secure, well-paying job in the future. Far from a gateway to riches and fulfilment, 'work' means precarity, anxiety and alienation.

In this audiobook, beautifully narrated by award-winning actor Libby Mai, Amelia Horgan poses three big questions: what is work? How does it harm us? And what can we do about it? While abolishing work altogether is not the answer, Lost in Work shows that when we are able to take control of our workplaces, we become less miserable, and can work towards the transformative goal of experimenting with 'work' as we know it.
Whether you listen on your commute, or while working from home, Lost in Work will empower you to see beyond the systematic problems you face at your job.

The most important war of all for Texas came in the early 19th century, and the common story heard in America is about rebellion against intolerance, oppression and Mexican cruelty. The Battle of the Alamo in particular, surrounded by legend and testimonies of heroism, is a textbook example of the fight for freedom, comparable to the Jewish defenders during the Roman siege at Masada. The words "martyrs" and "Mexican tyranny" are almost always present in the recounts, and “Remember the Alamo!” is both a slogan of self-glorification and martyrdom that remains one of the most famous phrases in America. 	Texas formally asked to be annexed by the United States in 1845. This annexation angered the Mexican government, which still considered Texas to be part of its territory. Mexico had previously warned that the annexation of Texas would cause Mexico to declare war on the United States.
When a Mexican patrol attacked American cavalry in the disputed area north of the Rio Grande, President Polk went to Congress for a declaration of war. The declaration passed on May 13, 1846. The war against Mexico was unpopular with the opposition Whig party, especially in the North. Opponents of the war denounced it as a war of aggression, and denied that there had been a valid reason for war.	Small American military units were quickly able to occupy key points in California, including San Francisco and Los Angeles. Although California was sparsely populated, some Mexican inhabitants formed an effective resistance which was eventually put down in 1847 by American reinforcements. Subsequently, a larger American army was sent to invade central Mexico, and managed to capture the Mexican capital, Mexico City, on September 13, 1847. News of the capital falling caused it to retreat to try to retake the capital. After the defeat of the last Mexican army, major hostilities ended.
