Summary

Peter and Nadia, like everyone in their society, will pass through the portal into the Beyond on their 95th birthday, where they are promised eternal life. The day before their ceremony, Peter announces to Nadia that he does not believe the Beyond is real. They spend their last night on Earth discussing his theories about what is really happening and what it might mean.
