Sinossi

Mouse Trap Snaps explores the surprising history and mechanical ingenuity behind the ubiquitous 1894 mousetrap spring. More than just a pest control device, this simple invention offers a window into the history of technology and our ongoing efforts to manage rodent populations. The book uniquely blends historical context with mechanical engineering principles, revealing how this seemingly mundane object reflects broader social and environmental challenges. Did you know the rise of cities in the late 19th century significantly increased rodent problems, creating a need for more effective traps? The book also highlights how the spring's design showcases clever application of force and material science.

The book begins by examining the historical need for improved pest control, then moves into the evolution of trapping devices. It dissects the 1894 mousetrap spring's mechanics and materials, and explores design variations and adaptations. Archival research and patent documentation ground the analysis, while engineering principles help explain the trap's function. The book offers a unique perspective on the environmental impact and ethical considerations of pest management.

"The Gaslighting Epidemic Series: From Personal Betrayal to Societal Deceit" is a compelling two-in-one volume that brings together the critical insights of John D. Kody's "The Gaslighting Trap: Understanding and Overcoming Emotional Abuse" and Michael Brooks' "The Gaslighting of America: How the Elite, the Authorities and Mainstream Media Have Conspired to Deceive the People." This series stands as a testament to the pervasive nature of gaslighting, spanning the intimate corridors of personal relationships to the broad avenues of societal influence.
In the first part of the series, adapted from John D. Kody's work, readers are immersed in the personal impact of gaslighting in relationships. It navigates the emotional complexities of manipulation, unraveling how individuals are led to question their own reality under the influence of a manipulative partner. This section provides an in-depth analysis of the dynamics within intimate betrayals and offers practical strategies for identifying, confronting, and healing from these experiences.
The second part, building upon Michael Brooks' insights, shifts the focus to the broader societal implications of gaslighting. It exposes how elites, authorities, and the media use psychological manipulation to craft a false reality, influencing public perception and eroding the foundations of society. This section critically examines the systemic use of gaslighting to manipulate and control public discourse, reshaping societal norms and values.
Together, these two parts form a comprehensive exploration of gaslighting's impact, both in the intimate sphere of personal relationships and the expansive realm of societal structures. The series educates readers on the multifaceted nature of this manipulation and empowers them with the knowledge and tools necessary to recognize and resist it in all forms.

A restorative justice approach to addressing sexual misconduct in colleges and universities. Written for college and university practitioners and administrators, The Little Book of Restorative Justice for Campus Sexual Harms: A Holistic Approach to Address Sexual Misconduct and Relationship Violence for Colleges and Universities combines explanation, justification, and contextualization for the application of restorative justice (RJ) for sexual misconduct, including for alleged Title IX violations. This book outlines considerations, action steps, and best practices for campuses that are interested in exploring the successful implementation of RJ for sexual misconduct. The authors' backgrounds as practitioners within the higher education context grounds this work with personal reflections, experiences, and stories. This book provides a primer for colleges and universities who seek to move campus culture in a more restorative direction generally, and specifically for practitioners interested in exploring the possibility of amending existing sexual misconduct policies, including investigative-adjudicatory Title IX policy and procedures, through a restorative justice informed lens. Readers will explore why it makes all the difference (for both students and administrators) to add RJ resolution options.

Lewen Weldon was mapping the desert of Egypt when the First World War broke out. A fluent Arabic speaker, he was recruited to run a network of spies and confidential agents from a steam yacht onto the Syrian coast behind Turkish lines. He took his men ashore in small boats at night, which also allowed him to land and conduct personal interviews before returning back through the surf. This vivid tale of adventure becomes eyewitness history as we encounter Armenians escaping the massacres, passionate Arab nationalists, resolute Turkish soldiers and a heroic network of Jewish volunteers. Weldon's modesty and self-deprecating Irish wit, complete with a few prejudices, take us to the vivid heart of his experience. This is a story that simply had to be told.

This is a book that consists of 3 titles, which are these:
1 - As King Henry VIII's 2nd marriage partner, Anne Boleyn ruled as Queen of England from 1533 till 1536. Her marriage and execution by beheading for treason and other criminal offenses made her an essential player in the political and religious chaos that identified the start of the English Reformation. Anne was the daughter of Thomas Boleyn, first Earl of Wiltshire, and his marriage partner, Girl Elizabeth Howard. She got her education in Holland and France, mainly as a housemaid of honor to Queen Claude of France. Anne went to England in early 1522, meaning to wed her Irish cousin James Butler, 9th Earl of Ormond; nevertheless, the marriage failed, and she found work as a housemaid of honor to Henry VIII's partner, Catherine of Aragon.
2 - Mary I, typically called Mary Tudor and called "Bloody Mary" by her Protestant challengers, ruled as Queen of England and Ireland from July 1553 till November 17th, 1558. She is well recalled for her solid attempts to reverse the English Reformation, which started throughout her dad's reign, Henry VIII's reign.
Bloody Mary was cruel, cold, and from what we know, there was a cause for this. Let’s take a look at her life, her problems, and the way she handled them.
3 - From 768 to 800, Charlemagne, also referred to as Charles the Great, was King of the Franks, King of the Lombards, and Emperor of the Romans. Charlemagne combined many western and main Europe at the time of the Early Middle Ages. Since the fall of the Western Roman Empire 3 centuries before, he was the first acknowledged emperor to rule from western Europe. The Carolingian Empire is the name given to Charlemagne's broadening Frankish world. Antipope Paschal the Third later canonized him.
