Christopher Rabbit turned the pages of the Bible, but it was getting dark and quite hard to read. Caravan Bear fetched an oil lamp. Whitby and Hector drew nearer.

"Some wise men had heard about the birth of Jesus," Christopher Rabbit said. "They wanted to see him..."

Caravan Bear once again hitches up Hector the horse to the brightly painted gypsy-style caravan and, with Whitby the dog and Christopher Rabbit, sets off in search of new adventures.

Enjoy Rabbit's storytelling along the way, interrupted by frequent questions from the travellers and other animals they meet. Do you think Jesus knew he was God's son when he was twelve? Why did Jesus want John to baptize him? Did Jesus like being famous? Why didn't Pilate release Jesus?

The Animals' Caravan has echoes of children's classics such as The Wind in the Willows and Alice in Wonderland, as the caravan travellers form a great friendship on their journey together.

"The Little Match Girl" Ā is a literary fairy tale by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. The story, about a dying child's dreams and hope, was first published in 1845.
On a freezing New Year's Eve a poor young girl, shivering and barefoot, tries to sell matches in the street. Afraid to go home because her father will beat her for failing to sell any matches, she huddles in the angle between two houses and lights matches to warm herself.
In the flame of the matches she sees a series of comforting visions: a warm stove, a holiday feast, a happy family, a magnificent Christmas tree. In the sky she sees a shooting star, which her late grandmother had told her means someone is on their way to Heaven. In the flame of the next match she sees her grandmother, the only person to have treated her with love and kindness. To keep the vision of her grandmother alive as long as possible, the girl lights the entire bundle of matches.
When the matches are gone the girl dies, and her grandmother carries her soul to Heaven. The next morning, passers-by find the girl frozen, and express pity. They do not know about the wonderful visions she had seen, or how happy she is with her grandmother in heaven.

Ring Around The Sun by Isaac Asimov - Hell in reverse temperature–that’s what Jimmy and Roy were going through in their little space-ship! Tricked into the dangerous trip, ironic fate caused them to freeze at 40 below, though they were almost in the sun!
Jimmy Turner was humming merrily, if a bit raucously, when he entered the reception room.
"Is Old Sourpuss in?" he asked, accompanying the question with a wink at which the pretty secretary blushed gratefully.
"He is; and waiting for you." She motioned him towards the door on which was written in fat, black letters, "Frank McCutcheon, General Manager, United Space Mail."
Jim entered. "Hello, Skipper, what now?"
McCutcheon stared at him from under bushy gray eyebrows. "Old Sourpuss," as he was euphoniously known to all members of United Space Mail, had never been known to laugh within the memory of the oldest inmate, though rumor did have it that when a child he had smiled at the sight of his father falling out of an apple-tree. Right now his expression made the rumor appear exaggerated.
