Summary

Peter Pan, or, The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up is a novel by J.M. Barrie. This beloved book tells the story of Peter Pan, a mischievous and adventurous boy who can fly and never ages. Peter lives in the magical world of Neverland and is the leader of the Lost Boys. The play opens in the Darling family's nursery in London, where Peter Pan visits and captivates Wendy, John, and Michael Darling with tales of Neverland. He teaches them to fly using fairy dust provided by Tinker Bell, a fairy who is jealous of Wendy's relationship with Peter. In Neverland, the children encounter a host of fantastical characters, including mermaids, Native Americans, and pirates. The most notorious of these pirates is the villainous Captain Hook, who seeks revenge against Peter Pan for cutting off his hand and feeding it to a crocodile. This crocodile, having developed a taste for Hook, follows him constantly, hoping for more.

‘Mitchell is well aware of what will make kids laugh. An observant and captivatingly funny story’
Sunday Times Children’s Book of the Week
A hilarious adventure for readers aged 9+ from the author of Escape from Camp Boring. When Things Went Wild is also a timely call to protect our environment.
When Kit’s family move to a crumbling house in the Scottish Highlands, he’s got a lot to deal with – terrible Wi-Fi, a new school in the middle of nowhere, and, as always, his annoying little brother, Jack. But it’s not until the brothers find a strange object on the moors that Kit’s problems really begin.
A policewoman comes knocking, and the boys learn that they have found a tracker that has been removed from the leg of a golden eagle. The illegal killing of these majestic birds is all too common, and now a pair of nesting eagles are under threat. Kit and Jack start to investigate, soon joined by Tamora – the most popular girl in school – and her younger sister, Bea.
Who is trying to harm the eagles, and why? Chief suspects are landowner Lord Cavendish, local farmer McNab and sinister game keeper Mosby . . . Can the city kids cope with the country – and catch the culprit?
Tom Mitchell, the Sunday Times bestselling author, once again proves his knack for creating captivating stories for young adults. When Things Went Wild is a testament to his ability to blend humour, action, and a strong message about nature conservation in a way that resonates with the teenage audience.
For fans of Jeanne Duprau (Voyagers), Katherine Paterson (My Brigadista Year), Nidhi Chanani (Misty the Proud Cloud), Stacy Mcanulty (The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl), and Jake Burt (The Right Hook of Devin Velma).

For her sixth birthday, animal-loving Alicia is given her first pet, a guinea pig she names Annie. But while Alicia is making a vegetable-fruit cake for Annie's birthday, Annie disappears. Where is she? Alicia can hear her younger brother and sister – the dynamic duo, Jackson and Jillian – arguing in the bathroom. AND, she hears squeaking. Will Alicia be able to avert a near-disaster and make sure Annie stays safe? "Alicia and Annie" is written for read-aloud and for early readers. A healthy recipe, and interactive questions to promote memory recall and emotional intelligence are included. ABOUT THE THREE BOOK SERIES: I was in my classroom when a student asked, “I wonder what my sister is doing right now?” The student’s question made me think about a child’s emerging concept of time: that of being aware of life happening elsewhere, outside of the child’s own experience. Each book in the Sapphire Family Series is told from a different point of view: that of the twins, in "Jackson and Jillian," their older sister, Alicia in "Alicia and Annie," and big brother, Mason in "Mason and Invincible Igor." All three books take place during the same period of time, early evening. Although the books can stand alone, read together they offer a three-dimensional exploration of sibling interactions and family dynamics. Reading a story from different points of view is a first step in thinking beyond oneself. My intention is that the Sapphire Family Series will offer children compelling characters with whom they can identify and grow, and present positive, realistic family dynamics that will delight them.
