For more than half a century, physicists and astronomers engaged in heated dispute over the possibility of black holes in the universe. The weirdly alien notion of a space-time abyss from which nothing escapes-not even light-seemed to confound all logic. This engrossing book tells the story of the fierce black hole debates and the contributions of Einstein, Hawking, and other leading thinkers who completely altered our view of the universe. Renowned science writer Marcia Bartusiak shows how the black hole helped revive Einstein's greatest achievement, the general theory of relativity, after decades during which it had been pushed into the shadows. Not until astronomers discovered such surprising new phenomena as neutron stars and black holes did the once-sedate universe transform into an Einsteinian cosmos, filled with sources of titanic energy that can be understood only in the light of relativity. Celebrating the hundredth anniversary of general relativity, Black Hole uncovers how the black hole really got its name and recounts the scientists' frustrating, exhilarating, and at times humorous battles over the acceptance of one of history's most dazzling ideas.

Join original Vienna Circle member Victor Kraft in his discussion of the movement for an exclusive insider’s view of this important point in philosophical history. In this in-depth philosophical study, Victor Kraft explores the role the Vienna Circle had on the international philosophical movement. The Vienna Circle constituted a point of departure for the reawaking, rebirth, and reformation of positivism and empiricism, leading to the creation of the Neo-positivism movement. At the time of The Vienna Circle’s publication in the 1950s, the Neo-positivism movement stood in the foreground of contemporary philosophy, and it was quite possibly the most significant serious philosophical movement in the period between the two world wars.   Making Kraft’s study of Neo-positivism available to a world audience, Arthur Pap provides a rich and accessible translation from the original German.   The book contains detailed expositions, accompanied here and there by criticism, of the Vienna Circle’s views on the criteria of significance, the nature of logic and mathematics, the phenomenalist analysis of physical concepts, the verification-basis of scientific propositions, the meaning of probability, physicalism, and much more.

One of the most important unsolved problems of current physics, astronomy, and cosmology is the nature of dark matter and dark energy. These two invisible components of the universe seem to control the behavior of galaxies, clusters of galaxies, and the accelerating expansion of the universe, but we do not know what they are. This book offers a unified explanation for dark matter and dark energy, and, in doing so, formulates a new theory of ordinary matter.

"A Guide to Heal Oneself in the Wilderness" is a unique book designed to be a helping hand for first-time, amateur, and experienced explorers involved in exploring different landscapes. The content has been designed to tackle various aspects that are important during traveling. The first few chapters focus on the wildlife of a region with animals and insects being discussed first. The shrubs and greenery are also part of a region’s wildlife, some poisons and some delicious, so we’ll be exploring that in the initial chapters. The book is also a guide on how to self-heal from unfortunate experiences and interactions with this wildlife and plant life. There are several procedures that can be conducted by an explorer on him/herself in order to sustain their life in the wild.An entire list has also been compiled that allows readers to efficiently pack for their next trip, depending on the region they will be visiting and the wildlife they will be exploring. The emotional aspect has also been covered in this book. A newer perspective on wildlife has been included, which explains how the wilderness can become a source of emotional and spiritual clarity.
Some processes are discussed that allow explorers to convert nature's energy into positive energy that can impact their life. The optimism that exploring brings is very real and is waiting to be harnessed! Grab your copy today to learn to heal yourself, physically and spiritually during your bushcrafting adventures!

Mathematics contains an important study field under the name Chaos theory. Chaos theory studies the concept and behavior of highly insensitive dynamical systems. It also studies behavior of dynamic systems in initial conditions, which often turns out to be super sensitive at a very high level. In Chaos theory, this concept is referred as Butterfly effect, which is the main field of study in this theory. From which, various branches are spread and constantly progressing and being developed. Various initial conditions are made because of some numerical errors in computations. These errors provide wildly diverging results for some dynamic systems. This makes it almost impossible to predict the behavior of long-term rendering. This happens even when behavior of this system is determined by initial conditions of very same system and no random elements are involved in process. Dynamic systems with such conditions are known as deterministic. In simple words, it can be said that such deterministic behavior or say nature of any kind of dynamic system is not able enough to make them predictable. Such deterministic behavior is known as deterministic chaos or just chaos. The whole theory of chaos is based on this simple fact. Each concept of chaos theory is based on these handful statements. Thus, an attempt was made by Edward Lorenz in order to describe the main concept of chaos theory in a single definition.
    According to him:
“Present can determine the future, but approximate present cannot determine approximate future.”
Many natural systems such as weather, climate, etc follow the rules of chaos theory. They possess the same chaotic behavior as described in chaos theory. Not only natural system, but some artificial systems, or system that contains artificial components also follows the same chaotic behavior. Road traffic is a great example of such artificial system since it contains multiple artificial components that are not a part of nature. Chaotic mathematical model is analyzed in order to understand such behaviors of natural and artificial dynamic systems. For such analyzing process, analyzing techniques such as recurrence plots and Poincare maps are implemented.
Following is a list of fields and disciplines in which chaos theory is applied or is applicable:MeteorologySociologyPhysicsEnvironmental scienceComputer scienceEngineeringEconomicsBiologyEcologyPhilosophy
These are the field, in which chaos theory has been successfully applied, that too with expected results. There are many other fields, in which research is still going on about application of chaos theory.
