Summary

Although the two main characters in A Dream of Annapurna are Italian and the novel is set partly in Tuscany, in many ways this is an international novel, with people from France, Italy, America, Russia, Switzerland, Spain, China, and Nepal playing small but important parts in the story.
 
The settings, too, range from Italy to New York, Paris to Kathmandu, and the lower slopes of Annapurna. The novel is both historical and contemporary, spanning a period of sixty years, from 1955 to 2015, and combining both real-life and fictional characters.
 
The major themes of the novel are universally human and include youth, ambition, age, friendship, fear, bravery, and love. Overshadowing these human characteristics is an implacable natural world.
 
The mighty mountain Annapurna, long the focus of the protagonists’ dreams, comes to loom physically over them, but even the permanence of the natural world is threatened by the horrific earthquake which hit Kathmandu on 25 April 2015.

I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes plus, called Haunting Elegy, uses flute and harp to set the scene of witches living life as they could. The closing music ends in a sad way, called Melancholy same instrumental at nearly 3 minutes as the fate that befalls these innocent people awaits them.
The story itself runs to about 14 minutes, narrated in my own voice.

Passage to India A - Unabridged

One of E.M. Forster's most critically-acclaimed works, "A Passage to India" was chosen by Time Magazine as one of the best "All Time 100 Novels" and it won the 1924 James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction. The story - one of Forster's darkest tales - revolves around a trip to India by British schoolmistress Adela Quested and her companion, Mrs. Moore. While exploring a dark cave alone, Adela is forced to fend off a mysterious attacker and Dr. Aziz - who became separated from the party - is accused of assault.   
A brilliant and troubling examination of privilege, racial tension and colonial rule, "A Passage to India" is often cited as Forster's masterpiece. The book has been adapted many times for the stage and screen, most famously for the Oscar-winning 1984 film directed by David Lean and starring Judy Davis, Peggy Ashcroft and Alec Guinness.
