Summary

Set in contemporary Europe, the kaleidoscopic story follows three characters, one in Stockholm and its island Archipelago, one in Berlin and its sluggish river Spree, and one in Girona, with its views of the Pyrenees. Three different characters in three different theatrical worlds lead lives of identity, cultural reference, knowledge and imagination and they are all in motion towards the same stage of a theatre school in Barcelona, where maybe, if they can all get into the right place at the right time, they will perform together.Ian Duckworth was born in Bradford. He went to King’s College London for his degree in History, and Manchester University for his Diploma in Art Gallery and Museum Studies. He worked in Art Galleries, Museums, and Sculpture Parks in the UK, as well as in Orange County, New York State. He was then involved in setting up BLR-WORLD, a globally operating international recruitment and consulting company, with its main office in Dubai, that works with Museums, Heritage, Events and Attractions in the Cultural Industries. He has lived in Girona, Catalonia, Spain since 2010.

An author’s talents may seem obvious and indisputable as they move words and ideas into gathered phrases and stories.
But where do these ideas and stories come from? A lonely thought that suddenly gathers form? An inspiration from a Muse? A suggestion from an everyday event?
Perhaps in the case of their darker, more malevolent stories, other forces are at work. They help to nourish single words into sentences and paragraphs that ease themselves from the shadows and are suddenly upon us in twisted revelation that may thrill, may disturb, but will always engage and help us explore the edge of darkness where some of the very best literature patiently lurks …. waiting …. for the likes of me and you.
